They thought the war was over... Now the Dark is back with a vengeance.
Madeleine Greenbriar has everything she ever dreamed of...and is about to screw it all up. Five years after the war with the Dark, the Naturals - the order of demon hunting mages who protect the world - are busier than ever. Demons still prowl the earth, searching for a way to prolong their lives, and Madeleine is on the front lines risking everything to end the threat once and for all. But when she runs afoul of a demon and risks exposing the supernatural world to humanity, her future is on the line. As punishment, she's transferred to the archaeological dig at Camelot. Expecting a boring babysitting job, Madeleine is shocked when she lands in the middle of a secret so powerful, it might tear apart the entire world - again . Can a moody goth girl hold it together long enough to stop another war erupting? There's only one way to find out.
Demon Bound is the first novel in The Camelot Archive , an urban fantasy series set in the same alternate Arthurian world seen in The Arondight Codex . Demons, danger, and deadly romance await in this thrilling new twist on a familiar legend.

I am a massive fan of all things King Arthur so when I read the plot for this I just had to try it. I am really glad I did, I really enjoyed it and it didn't take long to read.
The scene with Rhys annoyed me. He was allowed to threaten Madeleine and basically create a lynch mob against her and she wasn't allowed to defend herself?
However, she did have a past being part demon so I did find it entertaining that she hid her secret of it coming back then got upset as no one trusted her when they found out. I could completely understand her logic, she was already feared and didn't want more enemies. It just backfired.
I liked the supporting characters: Trent, Aidan and Maisy and hope to see more of them in the series. I am slowly warming up to Elijah but I am looking forward to seeing how his part plays out.
Overall, a good pace and plot. Definitely worth a read and I am intrigued to read more.

a new Camelot

This is a very different Camelot. I have yet to figure out what a Natural is, something that opposes demons is all that I can figure. Definitely not angels. Raised as a group of pseudo Round Table knights, their job seems to be protecting the world from the remnants of Mordred's demonic host in the modern world. It is interesting. The author has a beautiful gift with description, I really like the views she painted with her words. The plot is okay, a little stereotypical, but that could just be my confusion because this the first book of the second series. I really dislike jumping into the middle of a series because I miss nuances and from what I can tell, there are a lot of nuanced layers. I liked the characters even though it is all from a 1st person, unreliable narrator's perspective. Once I hunt down the first series I have no doubt I will like this more.

A different kind of camelot...

When you're a natural warrior, and the world has been brought to the brink of death, and restored, you'd think that they'd be more helpful. The world's fate rests in Madeleine, a young warrior once tortured for who she had become. Now she must become something else to help save the world.
The storyline is at times hard to follow without a prequel to explain what came before for Madeleine, making it into a puzzle without all the answers. The characters besides Madeleine and Elijah aren't as fleshed out, which leaves more to the imagination, but also makes the story feel a bit more incomplete. Hopefully as the books progress the characters continue to evolve, and become more in depth.

I found this book by accident

This book was a good find. I will be honest and say I was not expecting to fall in love with this book the first few chapters in. The main female character is really awesome. I think she has the hardest part but also the way this book goes, she will have the hardest job in the next books to come as well. The rest of this series will be added to my TBR list. Now I have to catch up on my reading that I have so I can jump to my waiting list. One thing is right about this book. Light and dark….. Black and white….. Life is not just one or the other. They mix and you have to look a the gray side of life. 10/10 recommend because this is an amazing book

Brilliant!

When the demons who escaped when the rift opened were returned the people who were infected returned to normal except they were gifted with the powers of the light able to defeat the demons left behind. All except Madeleine her demon remained and now she's a hybrid with enormous powers she doesn't understand but she's saving her friends and taking the fight to them. With its blend of Arthurian legend and paranormal nightmares held together by a kickass heroine this is unputdownable, an astonishing storyline with increadable characters not to be missed, supurb storytelling, Baz.

Action and Adventure

When you meet the heroine of this story. She is not sure if she is of the light or dark. She is captured by a demon who tortures her until another hybrid rescues her. As they head back towards Camelot, they form a link between them. She goes into the camp and is arrested because they do not know if she is bad or good. She tells them the demons want something on the grounds of Camelot and they are coming. She uses her darkness to break out of prison. It continues…

Not a fan

Pretty stupid not a fan. Although this review is heavily biased because I'm not a fan of paranormal fiction to begin with. So if you are maybe you should disregard this review. Going into reading this novel, I was hoping for a good mix of camelot and King Arthur and Magic and faeries but I didn't get that. Instead I got some demon hunter and a person who goes by Excalibur so this is a let down for sure.

Just an okay read for me. I didn't really feel a connection to the main character and it felt like I was reading the second or third book in a series with all the references to her past. Some grammar mistakes, mostly missing or misspelled words, altered the feel of the story as well.

For my clean readers: Language-a lot, but no f-bombs. Violence-fighting, kidnapping, torture, attempted murder, murder, and some gruesome details. Romance-kissing.

I did not read the series that this is a spin off of, which may have influenced my rating. For someone just starting with these characters, there was not enough world building. I wish somewhere in the description it would have said there was a series prior to this and I would not have wasted my time.

Great read

Madeline has always been a outcast. Everyone knew she was different and they judged her because of it. But when she gets kidnapped and forced to share a bond with a demon, things just get messy

Most enjoyable.

This book deserves a 5 star rating because not only has the author created a great cast of characters and an alternative world, but the actual writing is very good too. Definitely an author I will be following from now on.

The Light and the Dark together

A kick-ass strong headed heroin, who is struggling to fit in is being rescued by a suspicious stranger and somehow things change. But why? And who or rather what is Elijah?

Action packed

There's a lot of action Anda lot of heat in this book. If you believe that light can over throw the dark, this is the series for you. The heroine is likeable and the supporting characters do alot to move the story along. It's a cliff hanger though.
