Corny as it sounds, this story of a frum quadriplegic will make you grateful for the blessings we take for granted - like mobility and independence. I especially like that Breindy was open about her own bouts with depression; had she been all faith and sunshine, she would have been too good to believe. But inspiring as she is, her friends also deliver an important lesson about how much chessed any of us can accomplish. The end of the book is sad because Breindy is lonely and her friends are all marrying and moving on in life. She leaves her email address, and I'll probably write to her that I appreciated her story, but after a book like that, I can't help feeling how inadequate that is. Nonetheless, something is better than nothing. I just wish I could figure out how I can do more for her.

So inspiring! This young Breindy spoke at my school many years ago but I was too young to appreciate her. I finally picked up the book to be inspired and I most definitely chose the right one to be inspired. After reading this book I don't feel like I could ever have the nerve to complain about anything in my life. We have to be so thankful and not take anything for granted even the slightest act of getting up and out of bed on our own in the morning. A must read book!
