My mom gave me this book as a gift as this diet is one that was suggested by a doctor. It's essentially Mediterranean before that was cool. The recipes were ok, there are a few I would make and a few I would try but I really liked the information at the beginning.

There was a lot of cooking information plus some make ahead recipes that were very practical.

I found only a handful of recipes in this book that were worth while. Glad I didn't buy this book!

There were a lot of good looking recipes in this cookbook. I liked that several of the recipes gave instructions on how to adapt for phase 1 or phase 2 by adding or omitting ingredients. Overall the recipes are not that much diffreent from the prior quick South Beach Diet cookbook, so I will make copies of the better looking recipes and return to the library, not buying this one.

Great recipes, now I just need to make the time to try them! If you are doing South Beach or trying to cut back on your carbs I would recommend this book.
