A Mail Order Bride for the Scarfaced Doctor

Rate this book
He believed that staying alone was his new reality. Her good heart proved him wrong.

Evelyn after getting abandoned by her future husband left with a broken heart. Her sister, Miranda, seeing her in such a miserable condition decided to shape her future of Evelyn by answering a MOB ad on her behalf. Miranda’s initiative soon led both sisters to the other side of the country where they could hardly imagine the type of adventure that would find themselves into.

Noah never thought that saving his mother would demand the sacrificing of his personal life. Indeed, when his mother, Luna, found herself surrounded by flames, Noah didn’t hesitate to step in and drag her out. What was the cost though? He was left with a burned face, and thus with no hope of getting married to a local woman. Placing a MOB ad seemed like his only hope.

When Evelyn and Noah met for the first time, it was a shock for both. Noah could only admire the beauty of the woman he was looking at. On the other hand, Evelyn didn’t expect that the man to whom he was supposedly writing was a scarfaced, as he never mentioned it. Fortunately for both, they managed to overcome the adversities of their first encounter. Soon though they will find themselves in front of the real and substantially more dangerous enemy. It won’t take long until their common future is put in great peril.

As their love is at stake, it will take a lot of effort to save it from the evil deeds of a woman that resides within Noah’s very house. Will they be able to do it?

everlasting love

Nolan & his sister had lost there father by murder when he was 25and prudence was younger. His Mom went into a deep depression and he had taken care of her through the rest of her life. Prudence fell in love with the sheriff and married.
One night there mom had made warm milk to help her sleep but a fire was started. Nolan had to go in and rescue his mom and him.he received severe burns on his face.
Nolan felt lonely and had written letters for mail order bride, Miranda, sister of Evelyn responded as Evelyn fiancée married her best friend. Miranda wanted to cheer her up and let her know someone was there for her. The sisters left Boston and went to San Jose and met Nolan, not knowing his face was burned. Evelyn fell for Nolan and they got engaged. In the meantime, the housekeeper was in love with Nolan and hated Evelyn. She was trying to get her out of the house, so housekeeper plan on using poison and it killed Nolan mother. Housekeeper accused Evelyn of doing it and Nolan did not know who to believe.
Make a long story short she went back to Boston and Nolan went after her, lied about being I’ll. Evelyn went back and then found out the truth.
They decided to get married again but Nolan was drinking heavily due to loss of his mom and Evelyn lied about being pregnant to get him stop drinking.
She was afraid to tell Nolan, it was a lie. Just before wedding she went to doctor as Nolan request and found out she was pregnant.

whaaaaaaaat is happening?
the ad, the letters, the plan to marry all happen before 13%. then there's a hired assault, a murder, POVs from about 8 different characters, a new job, alcoholism, a fake pregnancy, a real pregnancy, then HEA? like there's so much going on and none of it is cohesive.
One sentence says they have been there three weeks then two paragraphs later Noah says it's only been a week. There are quotation marks EVERYWHERE and none where they should be. you find out things after the fact. For example, Evelyn worries he's lost his job then a paragraph later Noah says it's been a while since he had his job...so then it wasn't a worry because it had already happen or did a month go by in the paragraph? Also, she tells Noah she's pregnant----and this is the first we've heard they are having sex since there has been no comment about anything but a shared kiss months before this moment bc now Noah is an alcoholic--or maybe it was days or weeks? Unknown. Which there is nothing wrong with but in the late 1800s, that was like, the worst thing you could do and no one seems to care? Tons of continuity errors.
pass.

Noah has suffered a lot of tragedies but still has a positive attitude! His face is horribly scarred from saving his mother from a fire.
Evelyn has had her heart broken. Her childhood friend/ fiancé left her for her best friend. She is in a deep depression.
Miranda can’t stand another day watching her sister’s heart breaking! She decides to answer an ad and find her a new love. When Noah writes her back it’s time to come clean with Evelyn! Evelyn sees it as an adventure. Her sister accompany a her to San Jose,California!
There r more tragedies to come! I enjoyed this book but was a little confused about Evelyn sleeping with Noah unmarried. I didn’t think it was acceptable amongst the upper classes. I loved the characters especially Evelyn when she first sees Noah! This was a charming new book from Etta Foster. She is the Queen of Mail order Brides and western Romance. I recommend this book and this author!

I liked this mail order bride story featuring Evelyn and Noah. Noah was badly burned and one side of his face was scarred when he saved his Mother in a house fire when he was younger. He posted an ad for a bride and never mentioned his scars. When Evelyn moved from Boston to San Jose with her older sister Miranda, they were both shocked at Noah's appearance when they first met. Evelyn had already fallen in love through their correspondence so she was able to overlook his scars. Their courtship had its ups and downs due to Noah's Mother being protective of her son and a disgruntled maid who had secretly loved Noah. Miranda was able to find her true love also so the book ends with a HEA ending. I recommend this book for romance lovers. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.

It's The Heart That Matters

Very Good, I love historical romance. The heroine moved from Boston to San Jose for love. The hero was not fully truthful with the heroine. Will she return to Boston or will she look at his heart. There were some mysteries that were not resolved. This Book touch on murder, alcoholism, jealousy, and issues of trust. Love does prevail.

Etta Foster has again given us humor, villainy and a problem driven romance. I really wanted there to be consequences for the guilty party. Unfortunately I think Noah acted as anyone would have when forced to decide between two choices, one of whom is knew and trusted and one who he had just started to love.

Good story of seeing a person by their spirit and not by their looks. Then they tell out landing lies to get the other to do what they want.

Thanks to the author for providing this book for my honest review!

What a great book. I so enjoyed reading it, it took me back to a time from the past. Deception and lies that become the truth is amazing how life really does happen. I refuse to tell you anything about this book, so go ahead a read it for yourself.

Oh my goodness!

The intense feeling in this story was amazing. How can we hate a character so much as I did that maid. With all the excitement in this book I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read another.

Love is the key

Etta Foster has written this book to have a lot of emotions. Noah has been thru so much in his life. He has met his challenges head on until his mail order bride causes his stability to be unhinged. Great book to read. Love her extended versions also.
