The author is known for an accessible and easy-to-understand writing style making the most difficult topics understandable.
This is the most advanced undergraduate text on animal behavior that I have found. It is well-written, provides a lot of detail, and is extremely comprehensive. I like the figures, but having some of them in color would be advantageous. Although I didn't assign this book to my students, I taught from it pretty extensively.
I had to get this textbook for an Animal Behavior Zoology class. I thought it was very informative. They used good examples to explain each concept. I felt like I learned a lot and I generally enjoyed it.
