Elemental Outcast Games: Water

Magic Blood Academy #2

by RaShelle Workman

Can love alter destiny?

My name is Harla Flint, and I'm an elemental. My magic comes from the monsters within the peculiar forest called the Shade Rasa, not that I completely understand how. That's because I've been in juvie for murdering my parents, even though I have no memory of how it happened.

Now, I'm in the Elemental Outcast Games, but it's the wrong season. They sent Kai in too soon as well.

Our lives are filled with chaos and we're constantly fighting to live.

Everything changes when Kai and I are attacked by several bear-octopus monsters called Polyursas. Created by the Shade, they are nothing more than pawns in the Games, the same as the rest of us.

And then I'm captured by one of the other contestants.

He says he wants to help and that he can show me the truth about myself. But I'm not sure who to believe, and time is running out.

Let the Elemental Outcast Games begin…

Nice twists in the games, loved it! A fun 2-hour read.

I was hooked from book 1 and 2nd did not disapoint, if only then with its novella length (102pp).

Harla is still on the Outcast Games and there are multiple surprises - with the contestants and Kai. And that twist at the end - brill!

Reminded me a bit of Hunger Games 2nd movie scenario - but with monsters and submarines in swamps. So, if you loved that YA book/movie, this is up your alley.

Monsters and death

Harla is in prison, having killed her parents. She can't remember what happened, but just knows she will soon be ready to find out.
Suddenly entered into the games, in which there be only one winner Harla teams up with Kai. But can she trust him? Or even herself?
A must read for all lovers of the supernatural world.

urban

Too short, not well planned, needed less of a cliffhanger vibe. There is a warped supposed romance. Secrets, so many secrets.
