Not for the Faint of Heart - Your Love Sickness Review
Have I mentioned that I love the cat ears? If not, then strap yourself in (or on, I suppose) for another rousing installment of Not for the Faint of Heart. This week is brought to you by the letter Pinot Noir. Onward!
So the first thing that strikes me about this yaoi volume is that it doesn't really have a central story. That makes me a little sad because I'm more a fan of singular story-lines than I am of chapters, but the chapter approach does allow for more variety in characters, and they tend to be much more sex focused, and neither of those is a bad thing. Indeed, this volume does have a lot of sex in it, and it is hot and cute. Most of the pairings are a bit more standard in their body type and personality, but did I mention cat ears? They are adorable! The spec elements are also nice, including guardian spirits and demons and all that sort of fun stuff.
The art in the volume is hot if not the most explicit. The creepiest part about it is definitely the parts where the characters are young. Not creepy perverted, but just sort of creepy because the children look like chibi versions of the adults. it's just a little weird to see. That said, the story lines are mostly sweet, with a few a bit more hot and light. They're all fun, and they all involve some not-so-human characters that make this a bit more interested than yakuza or students or anything like that. I'm a big fan of bringing the speculative into smut, and so this seemed to work quite well.
In the end, there's not a whole lot to say about the volumes. I didn't think any of the stories were bad, but because none of them stuck around for very long, none of them were all that memorable either. I would have much preferred something to take up most of the collection and then just a couple of side stories, but this worked too. It was fun and sexy and hey, did I mention I like the ears. Yes? Well then, I give it an 8/10.

So stinking cute! Ugh....I didn't think I'd enjoy the animalistic approach to boys' love but this managaka does an amazing job of pulling me into the story. I loved all the stories in this manga. Please pick this up if you can.

A favorite book that just resonates with me. I love the story, the characters and the artwork. Very much recommend this and wish the author had written more!

This is actually a compilation of four stories, the first two fantasy paranormal, last two contemporary. The first is very sweet about to fox spirits over coming their class to love each other. The second is a human who falls in love with a dragon demon/spirit, also very sweet.
The art style is very conducive to the softer fantasy style. This is very apparent with the contemporary story of a model with a broken leg falling in love with a bento box chef. This story kind of fell flat with plot and art.
The last story had a great plot which help distract from the art style. Two childhood friends reunite as adults only to find out one is a dectective and the other yakuza.

I got it! And it's fantastic!
Oh how I love the realm of Japanese myth. Specifically, I'm quite fond of the kitsune! The main story was sweet and a little silly. Therefore, it was great! And other short stories were as well! I loved the little poem that preceded one of stories! It was absolutely mythical!
I know, this isn't a helpful review. I just wanted to express how sweet it was!

I really loved the first two stories about the fox spirits and would love to see that world built into a larger story. Even the story about the demon who loves a man is well done and very sexy. But that last story with the policeman was just ehhh and never really made sense for me.
