Positives: I'm glad this was a freebie.
Negatives: Anne acted more like a teenager than a mid 20s something new mom. Pete is probably the first male TSTL character I've read. He's this big macho man acting like a neanderthal, and not in a good way. I rolled my eyes at 99% of his dialog. Together they just made my head hurt.
This is the first Teglia story I've read and to be honest, if all her books are like this, it will be the last.

Anne Parker expected a lot of things in life after her husband left her in labor. Now that she is divorced she has settled into mother mode. Yet she never realized that Pete Crenshaw wants her as a woman.
Charlene Teglia’s Undercover Lover continues in the Take Me, Lover series in a unusual way. From the first part we see Pete Crenshaw as a man biding his time. In Undercover Lover he shows that it is time to make his move and boy does he ever. Anne and Pete heat up the pages in every way possible making you wish for your own undercover guy.
Ms. Teglia shows us that anything is worth the wait especially when it comes to love and Anne is Pete’s reward for his patience. Once again Charlene Teglia shows us that with love comes the adrenaline rush of lust, which eventually turns into something worth treasuring, if we’re lucky. Loved it.

I quite liked the first book in this series, Redline Lover, but I'm really not sure about this one.
Unfortunately it came across as a 40-page sex scene interspersed with some dialogs. a shady ex, and a bit more info about what Paul and Adam's "business on the side" is about.
Disappointing.

Undercover Lover is the second story in the Take Me, Lover series. It is not so much a stand-alone book as it is a "part 2" to Redline Lover being "part 1". Both of which were too short, this one being shorter than even the first one.
Pete and Anne are much more likable. Their characters are better written and more thought out, they felt more dynamic, less static. The only problem I had was once they decided to advance their relationship from friends to lovers, the baby was a mere afterthought since everything then focused on sex.
In my opinion, the sex scenes still felt off. Rather than porn to medical text as I'd referred to them as in the first story, these felt like an adolescent virgin's attempt at porn. It's not really warm or appealing. It's blunt and sterile.
This story felt more complete, finished.
Overall, I'd give this one a 3.25 out of 5 total.

This follows the first one closely since the mystery of Adam and Pete's garage is revealed. The story is aptly titled and I liked it just the same. Pete clearly waited for the right time to claim Anne, and it takes a real man to declare his love for a woman through this actions. I didn't feel like he's an ass for being dominant because Anne wasn't exactly running away from him. For such a short story, the sex was amazing. I'm intrigued by this so I'll read the next.

Okay, that was a really quick read. I think it took me 29 minutes from start to finish and I even spent a few minutes on facebook. I'm not sure that was a good thing. It was a short novella, but the plot was weak and I mean really weak, with very little substance. I want to say 90% of the story (if not more) was all sex and I need a little more than that.

Even the plot of a short story needs a beginning, middle, and end. This very short story felt like it just had an end. Guy gets the girl with no lead up, has a skirmish with the bad guy, and the end. There were no emotions in this book.

It was clear that from the contents that there was a book preceding this one. I got it as a kindle freebie. Be warned there is a lot of sex. Overall the story was interesting. It might have been better if this had been longer.

Anne doesn't think that she's ready to start a new relationship....she just had a baby after all but there is something about Pete. He is attractive and he makes it quite clear that he wants her. She gives into her feelings and once they are together she never wants to be without him.

I will be honest. The characters were difficult to like. The lack of communication was irritating and the behavior of the leading lady was just disturbing....what was your age again?

Decent storyline for a novella, a little rushed but I think it was okay. I wanted a little bit more depth but I felt like it was realistic and well thought out.
