The Blessed and the Cursed is for the most part a beautiful romance between two young men set in a fantasy world, and whilst the prime focus is exploring the main characters' relationships there are tantalising threads of some deeper plot/conspiracy/intrigue brewing in the background. The threads of background intrigue were woven into something entirely unexpected and extremely gripping, and I'm very excited for them to write the next book in this series! The ending left me quite breathless, and I'm so excited to see where the story will go! I was fully invested in the characters, Blossom and Asher are so sweet and interesting, and Jade's portrayal of healthy communication and consent make this a must-read for young adults. It's refreshing to read a queer love story where coming out, homophobia, and societal barriers to love based on gender are not a factor in this world, leaving plenty of room for the relationship itself and the magic system and court intrigue to take the lead. Fantastic first outing from an exciting new fantasy author!

🥰 Thank you! I have not read a book that had me on so much of a roller coaster of feelings. I felt like I was holding my breath waiting for the king to unleash his fury.
🌪️ When I reached the end and realized the true power that Blossom had completely came at me like a tornado- fast and furious. I love a book that surprises me and this one blew me away. 👏 👏 👏
🔥 The love held between Asher and Blossom was truly beautiful and translucent for all to see. This alone had me enthralled from the first chapter. but get ready for the hot, steamy heat for this one.
⭐️ I highly recommend this author. Remarkable!
