Rather than rehashing the same three temple rites used by most Wiccans, Kaatryn MacMorgan-Douglas explains what the functions of the various pieces of the rite are, and how those pieces work as a coherent whole. The author also explores earlier and lesser-used temple techniques, as well as modern techniques, in part at frustration at the over-reliance of the Wiccan community on the elemental tetragram circle, a rite that many Wiccans are taught as if it is the sole temple rite, not one of dozens. Kaatryn MacMorgan-Douglas is the retired leader of the Church of Universal Eclectic Wicca, a retired research laboratory manager, singer, Mom and Widow.

She lives in Central New York where she is currently in the process of a large Folklore project, called FEAST TALES FOR FAMINE TIMES, which can be found under the name MacKenzie Morgan.

She also writes sci-fi under the name D. Douglas Woods.

This book is required reading for students in my coven who seek initiation. It's the best book I've found on Erecting the Temple outside of oathbound coven material, and it explains not only history, but practical matters for Erecting the Wiccan Temple. Concise, yet implying a certain facility with readers, this is a book for advanced beginners in coven training or advanced solitary practitioners. Very highly recommended.
