This book was OK for me. Not usually a fan of Sci/fi, Space Opera
The storyline was OK!
The characters are what made the book. The mere fact that Alisia is a character you will want to root
For the entire time, that's what will draw you in.
For that reason, I gave the book 3 stars; Book 2 may be more enticing. However, we will have to see.
Willing to wait and see.
Overall an OK debut book.

Different
This series is translated from another language but some of the word choices make me wonder about the translator, broth is one example. Besides the few odd word choices, I found this an exciting addition to the typical alien abduction genre. Genetically the same as one of two warring species, hints of certain particles releasing info in a derelict rehabbed AI database, symbionts, Gods, cloud space, Matriachial society gone awry, just so many hints. I see there are 10 books I am so looking forward to many more translations and can only hope the drama, excitement, and science I don't really understand can keep as interested and still hoping for more as this first book did.

The book was a little hard to get into the characters were slow to like. It was like the were more worried about not having a romantic relationship than getting out of a ship they were kidnapped in. It took awhile to get to the science fiction part. The story was finally getting along at a better pace when it ended and you need to read the next book in the series. I’m a big science fiction nerd and wanted more about the alien species and technology not “romantic times” with AI. If I got a copy of the next book I would read it to see if the story develops more.

Very interesting high tech sci-fi with an interpersonal relationship twist for different cultures.
Sisters kidnapped by aliens and sold to a bird like species of aliens at war with another galactic human species whose DNA matches those of earth. The admiral who is also a spy master has plans to infiltrate and cripple their enemies using the two sisters. They are implanted with nanites and the MC gets a control AI that when activated will also start the clock on her demise. Fortunately for the sisters, the AI is tech from yet another alien species that is far above the current tech and massively helps them rather than being a dead-man switch. The sisters are trained as special forces operatives and eventually gain their freedom, taking over the ship and escaping before being infiltrated.
This is where the authors made me scream.
The MC allowed an infiltrator, just about unfettered access to the ship, just having the AI "keep an eye on her". Though suspicious, she completely dropped the ball and it ended up almost getting them all recaptured. The spy-mistress upstaged the MC in many ways. She even tried to abscond with her paramour and did all the things a competitive woman would do to an arch-rival, before slipping a knife into their backs and the stupid MC let her. A classic failing where past experiences blinded her to the clues that were occuring in the here and now. In the MC's case, an unfaithful past relationship blinded her to the current relationship. She handled it really poorly.
Let's see how they recover from this screw up.

3.5 stars, if I could have given half stars, but I am definitely not rounding this up.
Somehow, the blurb gave me the impression that this had depth. It doesn't.
The characters are essentially blank. The main character likes handsome men and loves her sister. Her sister also loves handsome men and likes to tease her sister. That's it. For the rest, they are generically decent.
I thought there would be an intricate world with complex alien cultures in which they would have to stand their ground, using their wits. Instead, the aliens are essentially humans with slightly different customs. And wits are not required because Alisia gets infected with a super AI and magical nanites, and that makes her super strong, super fast, and super durable. Her sister as well. On top of that, the aliens give them a preposterous amount of training, so they become super soldiers. So nothing is difficult anymore, and the only way to give them a little bit of a challenge is to make them fight large numbers of aliens. Which they do, and they never even think about the fact that their kills are no longer holograms. Oh, and I forgot, they are never afraid because nanites. Of course, there is zero discussion of what that might do to your psyche.
There is an iffy sexual situation, but there is almost no conflict over it.
In short, if there was not so much violence, I would almost call this cosy since stakes are pretty much non-existent.
Still, there was no misogyny that I could see, and it was easy to read. When you're in the right mood, this can be a light-hearted read to fill your time.

Fun read, interesting charcters
I enjoyed the journey of Alisha and Beatrice from capture to now. I liked how they trained to the advanced technologies and other cool things. I do like the AI characters of Eric and Maria. I personally liked Maria more than Eric. I found her to more interesting as she began interacting with the duo and developing a personality of her own. I liked Eric until the part of the book where things get sexy and flirty with the sisters. The author doesn't go into any graphic details, but I could have done without any of that. Adonis is a straightforward and honorable character, to honest is pretty boring. It is worth the read and we will see the crews adventures in the next book.

An interesting idea and great start to the book, but it didn’t take long for a few cracks to appear. I know the book was not originally written in English so some of the problems might be with the translation, but some of them were just weird and I really couldn’t tell who was meant to be the target audience. At times the dialogue would have insulted a preteen and the attempts at introducing sex and romance were just pitiable. The author is described as having a PhD, but it would not have surprised me if she were a high school teenager.
Unfortunately what could have been an interesting story was spoilt by a lot of drivel.
If possible I would have given 1.5 stars.

I have read 11 of the 17 volumes in Bob Blanton’s Delphi series, so when I saw that he was doing an alien abduction story, I expected a lightweight space opera with creative, if sometimes implausible, technology. Admiral’s Choice is that, at least in part. It serves up an implanted artificial intelligence, holograms, body-sculpting nanotech, space pirates, and huge spaceships with alien crews and lots of firepower—so all the space opera hardware one could want. But all that is just window-dressing for another genre—YA, erotic chick-lit with two kidnapped sisters having hot dreams with hunky AIs and tangible holograms. ‘Nuff said? 3.5

Characters, 10 - could use more fleshing out, without making story too much slower.
Setting, 8 - I realize aliens are alien, but they have to make some logical sense.
Plot, 6 - Mostly Matilda. Why would you allow A stranger complete access to your ship? She should have been locked in a cell until her ship was repaired and then dumped. Roger with her.
Ship, 6 - Either Maria runs it or she's only somewhat in charge. Blank areas where she can't see? Top priority to fix, not "oops I forgot to mention that."
I'll read the next one, but hopefully it's better. I love the accuracy of the science involved and the overall idea, but there's just too many gaps.

OK, so I came into this book expecting something a little different which accounts for some of my rating. I was expecting science fiction with an undertone of romance, but what is actually was was romance with a little twist of science fiction. I actually really love romance novels, but it wasn't what I was vibing at the moment. I also felt the way the relationships and relationship choices seemed to dominate the story even when the characters had bigger things to worry about was disappointing.
Overall this was not a bad book. if you go in expecting romance with a science fiction twist you should be golden.

Borderline OK
While I enjoyed Bob Blanton’s other series, I am much less impressed with the beginning of this one. The book has a strong enough start but then halfway through devolves into a mix of sci-fi, FM romance, and some rambling disconnected argument on feminine behaviors. There are large holes in the plot, again caused by “feminine conflict and insecurities” which leave the reader with a mostly unsatisfying ending to this installment. In deference to Bob’s previous series, I’ll take a chance on book 2 and hope he improves this series.

Interesting premise. Good translation?
I enjoyed the book as far as I got in it.
Good world building. Assuming this book was translated from German I believe the storycraft may have suffered.
Some of the science assertions are different from what I thought I understood. Since I am a layman I won't say they are wrong. But it broke my suspension of belief.
Maybe the translator needs to read more astronomy? Maybe the book needs more copy editing?
I have reservations but you might very well enjoy this book.
Please give it a go.

Some space opera lots of Drama
Not exactly what i had in mind more like classic spacespera kombined with a teen show but not bad.
Some similaries with Asaros books and my hope is that the remsining books will focus more on the spaceopera part then the teen drama.
It is part one of seven and the story is about 2 sisters who get kidnspped by aliens and have adventures and love drams on an alien ship.
In conclusion an easy fun read but a bit mu h teen drama for a 5 star rating from me.

I've gone through about 40% of the book and could not take it any more. I've read better fanfic than this.
The moment that pushed me over the edge was when the main character sneaked into the cabin for a secret mission and decided to have a bath in the bathtub she found there.
This book is full of such absurdities, not even mentioning the "sexual" scenes. The characters are much more interested in those than getting themselves out of their "slavery".
ChatGPT or their Chinese counterpart probably would do a much better job at writing.

Or at least the young women are. They have constant thoughts about sex. This isn’t about it being an adult story. The story itself hold together. This is about characterization. I will certainly not be reading more of this series. It is not my cup of tea.

childishly written
Stilted dialogue with no initial plot to grab onto. Can’t recommend to anyone of any age. Definitely not up to the standard set by The Delphi Series. That series started good and got better. This started poorly and got more boring. Bring back Caty and Ady and the whole McCormack clan.

Cool setting, bad MC
I'll continue the series because of the setting, but the MC is highly irritating, irrational and immature. I could possibly forgive it if she was in her early teens, but not as a soon-to-be 30 year old that was kidnapped and trained to be what amounts to being a SpecOps soldier. I could go on, but I won't bore you with the myriad of details.

Entertaining sci fantasy
I thought Choice would be a 5 star read, but there's too much "teenage" angst (although Alisia is an adult), a generous dose of silliness, and some very improbable situations. I liked Alisia and her family. And the story is entertaining.

I wasn't sure where this series was going with half the first book mainly centred around getting it on with a symbiote. But I persevered as was well rewarded as the characters and plot really developed.

Okay, but not romantic
The story demonstrates the far too common lack of understanding about human sexuality. It is a poor attempt at romance, but a very fun story otherwise. As far as space opera, it is better than average and a clear sign of writing talent!

An absolutely brilliant series spoilt by some appalling translation errors. The original German for Book 6 was released in October 2022. Why do we have to wait until June 2025 for the translation to be done?

Good idea but poorly implemented
It was a neat idea for a story but the decisions of the characters didn't make a whole lot of sense. I got 2/3 of the way through before I had to stop. There's only so many times I can press the I believe button before it breaks.

Somewhat predictable
It starts out slow and is sometimes repetitious. Having recently read a couple fast paced sci-fi series I found this first in this series a bit hard to slog through.

Very interesting novel.
I loved the science and space opera nature of the story. The romance between the characters was a bit dramatic at times though. I’ll continue the series anyway. Thank You.
I loved the science and space opera nature of the story. The romance between the characters was a bit dramatic at times though. I’ll continue the series anyway. Thank You.

Too many typos
Got half way through and couldn't deal with all the typos, misspelling and editing mistakes. Interesting premise but couldn't stick with it.

A thrilling read.
Absolutely brilliant sci-fi with thrilling action.
Great characters with realistic situations and lots of action and adventure.
I look forward to the next one.
