Hermie & Friends

Webster the Scaredy Spider

Rate this book
Hardcover book plus bonus vhs. Based on the Hermie and Friends film by the same name, Webster, the Scaredy Spider is Max Lucado's latest character to enter the garden. With little regard to the "Garden Treaty of '85," cute little Webster wanders into the garden to face his long list of leaving home, other insects, talking in front of others, meeting new people, big lizards, water, heights, flying through the air, dark places . . .But little does he know, he is a big, hairy source of fear for all of the other insects in the garden. With guidance from God (after, of course, getting up the courage to talk to Him), Webster finds a way to face his fears, and in turn, the other insects learn to face Webster. With vividly colorful 3-D art from the film, this story will serve as a light-hearted reminder that God is always by our sides. Een boekje dat mijn meiden regelmatig pakken. Even samen lezen is dus snel gedaan.

Het boekje borduurt door op het verhaal van Krummel. In het kort gaat het om een spin die leert dat God hem helpt in zijn angst. Een thema wat bij kinderen zeker aanspreekt en ze handvatten geeft om met hun eigen angst om te gaan.

We usually LOVE Max Lucado's children's books . . . but this book was just odd. God speaks audibly with insects anytime they talk to him? Really? We felt like we were missing something.
