Why was the glossary at the back of this book!
While reading on kindle, the images were black and white- switched to Libby and they were in color.
I wish the glossary was linked as there were a lot of riding and tack terms that I was unfamiliar with. I’ve ridden western until. From trail rides and camp lessons as a kid, I was excited to learn English and jumping for this year’s first quarterly hobby.
It’s a different world and while I’m taking lessons 3x a week right now, this was an aid that supported my trainer. Considering that all of my classes are in Spanish and that my trainer speaks 0 English - this was a good basic to grab the vocabulary I didn’t even know in English - let alone Spanish.
I wish they would have gone deeper into positioning across other gates, this was a high level overview with key introductory aspects. It’s a palette wetter that the podcasts I’m exploring can continue.
The cute thing was bringing your horse to state parks, don’t forget change in case you need to make a call- yepppp this book was dated.
Again, another example where they intro is something without any follow up, they reference games to play with your horse - but like now I have to google what the heck is musical chairs or egg and spoon - horse rendition.
Three stars - first book on horses I’ve come across… gonna ask mi amigas at the barn for other recommendations.
