"The Redox Plan by Ewa Doctor is a fascinating journey of health. The author is a health nutritionist who takes a broad view of health and well-being in her book. A basic tenet is that you add good habits rather than remove habits, which can lead to a sense of sacrifice or loss. It is a sound way of making healthy habits more enjoyable. She writes about hormesis, the benefit of contrast to better appreciate life, the effects of plant-based diets, moving, and being outdoors. She also widens the perspective by opening up for chapters about awe, trust, and gratitude. The book combines ancient knowledge including quotes from the Bible and Marcus Aurelius with new scientific findings. Ewa is personal and shares stories of her mother and her own personal journey. This is a condensed, easy-to-read, and rich book that will most likely open many doors to new views on health and well-being."

Science-backed Inspiration…A Simple Approach to Living Healthier!

So much to love in this little book! First, it’s backed by science. Ewa Doctor definitely knows her stuff, not only from years of her own education and research, but through her upbringing in Sweden, managing her own back pain holistically, and her love of nature. Second, this book is so easy to read and digest. It offers bite-sized bits of inspiration walking us through basic things we can easily add into our lives…movement…nature…poise…specific foods, etc. The questions at the end of each chapter got me excited about simple changes I can make to lead a healthier life. It’s a book you can pick up again and again to get your life on a healthy, uplifting path. The author definitely lives what she teaches, and inspires us to do the same. Thanks for writing and sharing your wisdom Ewa!

Simple But Incredible Refocus

The Redox Plan is a paradigm shift. With our busy lives, we are constantly asked to make choices! This book helps us make better and healthier choices! As a podiatrist into health and wellness, I am amazed at the poor decisions I make in these areas! I thank the author for the simple but powerful shift in my awareness! We have to many choices in life, they might as well be good ones!

Simple way to change your habits for the better!

Usually books on habits offer stand suggestions. What I love about The Redox Plan is that Doctor offers new ideas to fill the space of old patterns. I love the chapters on Poise and Awe the most. I am also going to pay attention to my sighs. This book is a quick read and life changing. Highly recommend.

« Add to reduce » says in the cover of the book and it itrigues me. I think that during the years, but not for a number of years, I have read a few bookshelfmeters of self-help and yet, here we re again. I want to find out what she means.

On the cover it also says that “the Redox Plan” is a “common-sense approach to add more life to your years” and
in Conclusion she adds that focusing on what to add (one or more of the tools she presents in her book) to your life to create a healthier lifestyle, you are able to add life to your years and years to your life.
Nicely put, and after reading this book, I believe her.

First of all, by the Redox Plan, shortly, is Ewa Doctor´s philosophy of filling up the spaces in your body and your life with beneficial ingredients i.e. adding something in one area of your life, this automatically leads to simultaneous reduction of something else, i.e. good leads to reduce for “not-so-good” choises.
The tools she covers entail hormesis, quality (vs quantity), contrats, plant, healthy fats, mushrooms, deep breathing and the sigh, poise, movement, dry brushing, touch, outdoors, awe, sleep, tears, trust, gratitude.

So, it is not about you practicing your ashtanga in the morning an hours and a half, then running a length of a marathon and maybe enjoy a glass of water and an almond for your nutrition and then meditate for the rest of the day, no, not at all. This is a reasonable, usable concept that really makes sense.

And of the book: Ewa Doctor writes well, the chapters are short enough to take in all that information and one can actually feel one can benefit from it and incorporate it to one ´s life.
She writes by experience and she has her own voice in the text which I liked a lot. She invites you to gain more of better life, to reduce your maybe not so good habits and still not feel deprived or starving of the things you enjoy and like having in your daily life and she makes it sound doable.

Now, I have read this book for a couple of times, and I found a lot of wisdom in this book. Not only that it has a lot of information on how to take care of your physical aspects in your life, but also, and even more importantly the emotional aspects. And Doctor knows what she talks, she has the education (also a lot of links in the book to dig deeper), the experience (over 30 years) and she gives out a sense she really wants to help and give.
