I don't think this book is really meant to be read aloud with a kid... I think I would have given it more stars if I had had the intrest of horses and just sat down browsing through it. But here we are.
I have to give it one thing though, this book covers most things, really. From different races, to have to do take care of horses, to have the horses anatomy works, to different sports, to horses in history myth and litterature. This book really covers most things! So it's perfect for a horse-crazy person (aka my kid). But it was a bit boring to read aloud.
This book is more than filled with facts and all the information you could need for a beginner horseman or woman! I learned some and reintroduced myself to things I had heard and remembered. It is excellently written and illustrated. It is in clear and sectioned off catagories that make alot of sense to the reader that needs to find certain information. Want to learn about horses and ponies? This is a great book to get started with and also for those that have them and have questions that come up along the way. Well worth the money to keep as a resource book on your bookshelves at home.
Tipikus modern lovaskönyv tele tévedésekkel. Ugyan általános háttérismeretek találhatóak benne, lényeges gyakorlati kérdésekben használhatatlan. ---------- Typical modern horse book full of mistakes. Though general background information can be found in it, in important practical questions it is useless.
This is a good book because it as info on care, apearances, health, shows, history, gear needed and described in detail basically everything you need to know about caring for a horses and ponies. It also has links to websites for more infomation. Highly recommended.
