This review comes in two parts. Before tragedy strikes, and after.

Things once again start out with the same premise as in several of these books. Rich(ish) Dom collects poor(ish) sub and shows him luxury and caring.
Most of these stories I liked, although they also can go wrong – when the Dom seems way too focused on shaping the other guy into what he wants rather than enjoy him for who he is or what the sub wants. There’s only a little hint of that here, offset by what seems like genuine caring

Although the kink here involves blades, it's not cutting, but shaving. Neither of these particularly interest me as we are given, once again, a Dom with money to burn and a Sub who doesn't realize he's a sub. Although the "Darlin'"s got old fast, I did enjoy the Sub, and the Dom was what he needed--it can't be argued they weren't sweet together. But the beginning seemed slow, humdrum, and done before (although fans of the series may enjoy it just for this reason). The last 40%

Feels like the ending to the series--and it’s a fitting conclusion

- Somehow this author makes the instalove thing work for me in almost every one of his BDSM stories. This may be because while the physical attraction is always mutual, the love/possessiveness is usually one-sided; the sub often takes a bit of convincing.
- Every Velvet Glove story I read reveals something new about the club: either its facilit

This is Denny & Cain set in space, but with the little guy a refugee being chased. Shaving is not really my kink but this was so reminiscent of the Cherry Sours books that I felt like I'd read it all before. Right down to calling Tybalt Darlin' and Tybalt and Cain both being artists.

On the upside, it did explain how the club burned down which I read in another book. But really, I should know better and I got it on rebate, but taking the same characters, same themes and simply putting them i
Set in the Velvet Glove world this was a nice story filled to the brim with the author's usual formula of sex, sex and more sex. Although in this case it was more like sex, shaving, sex, shaving... luckily the sex scenes were nicely done because after a while the Dom's shaving fetish got old. The last third of the story was the best as the protags, and the central figures of the Velvet Glove, have to deal with stalker/terrorists. There was action, adventure, some sadness, lots of sex and a nice ...more
Gideon came to the Glove to live his life there within the community he felt comfortable with. Then he meets Tybolt and knows that this is the person he wants to share this new life with. I rate the books I read on how I'm affected by them, not so much on how good the spelling is or the punctuation :). Since there was actually a chapter that brought me to tears, I believe I can say this was a wonderful story, at times scary, and with an almost horrific ending, but I got my HEA so I'm happy... bu ...more

I just do not know where to begin!!! This story was beyond slow and dragged me into a world of pure boredom. If not for the ending the book would have been a total bust! They are cute together and they compliment each other well within the relationship. However the obsession with shaving just was not for me. I couldn't connect with the sexual gratification gained by the shaving. Anyway i have the entire series and doubt i will be reading the others!

Although I found the begining and end of this book to be up to Sean Michaels usual standard, the middle was a little drawn out and I found myself speed reading sections. I cannot put my finger on exactly why however, this one left me luke warm.

Wow, what a way to end (I'm guessing) the series. Good story, lots of surprises.

Story plot and relationship development just seemed slow and a little blah.
