This is the Prequel story of a Time to Ride. Hoping to avoid all the trappings of romance, love, and marriage that seem so expected on Valentine's Day, five close female friends decide to take a motorcycle ride through the Rocky Mountains instead of celebrating the dreaded holiday. Through circumstances beyond their control, they find themselves trapped in a different time and place. Can they find a way home or are they stuck living without the modern conveniences they are accustomed to? At first, the simplicity of the time seems attractive and love seems possible for once. When the new adventure wears off will they be driven to find a way back to their own time? Will they change their perspective on finding true love? Is it a time to acclimate to a slower way of life or will the lack of their normal ways of decorum convince them that it's A TIME TO RIDE?

I tried to give this a chance because it is the prequel to the series and book #1 sounded interesting. However, the friend group was annoying and I couldn't understand why they were friends because they didn't seem to like each other. By the time I got to the time travel aspect, I was uncomfortable with every character and finally DNF'd the book. I don't know if I will try the next book.
I’m going to just admit that time travel is not one of my favorite genres, in fact, there are only a few authors that can tempt me into reading time travel stories. Lynn Donovan is one of those authors. I trust her to have her usual great characters, humor, romance and interesting story line. She has certainly grabbed my attention with this series. I would imagine most of us have wondered would we survive if we were put back in time. These five motorcycle, okay one scooter, riding ladies are about to find out and I’m looking forward to taking that journey with them.
I enjoyed reading this captivating introducing to what I expect to be a fun and intriguing series. 5 biker girls ( not the hard core kind but close) who are anti valentine's day, ready for laughs, aws and romance.
From the future to the past. Five young Women start out on a motorcycle ride to rid themselves of the trappings of Valentines day. Where do they end up? Crossing the Continental Divide, they arrive in 1883. It is not only a culture shock but they have to move fast to hide the evidence they are from the future. Biker clothing and the bikes themselves are just not something they want people to find right away. Take this trip and enjoy the ride!
I understand this book is the previous for the rest of the series, but it took for ever to get to the part where they found the help they needed. Also to be a physical therapist you need to have a undergrad degree, then three more years of school in grad school. When they graduate they have a doctorate in physical therapist, (DPT). Normally after graduating and working they do other specializations in other areas, like dry needles, etc...
Delightful prequel to Lynn Donovan’s fun time-travel series about five young women who take a motorcycle trip out into the Rocky Mountains. They want to get away from the trappings of Valentine’s Day and the unhappy emotions it conjures up for each of them. But they find themselves transported back into the year 1883, and have to figure out how to find shelter, food, and a way to explain themselves to the locals of that time, so as not to appear to be lunatics. Clean, light romance.
Whoa this was an awesome read. I picked it up and couldn't put it down and I am hooked. I can't wait to see how the girls are going to get along in their new familiar, I guess like we do during this pandemic but at least they have found friends and a place to stay for right now and I can't for the adventure to continue. I received this book as an Arc for an unbiased and honest review.

What a wonderful start to this series. The girls find themselves back in time (150 years approximately ) and are getting to know the area as the seek when and where they are. They are befriended and taken to town and next there adventures will be coming. Definitely a good read and scene setter.
I just started to like these 5 women when the book stopped. I think the author could have added a little more information about each woman. There seems to be a lot of questions about this town in 1883. I hope the next books will answer all questions about the girls, town, and down people.
It was nice at least one lady knew enough about the past to help the others. It was also nice the people the ladies met were helpful. I look forward to read future books in the series.
I have enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait to see how this story continues. Yes I would recommend this series to others that enjoy time travel romance out West
This seems like it is going to be a neat series! I am already drawn to the storyline! I might not have the guts to ride anything with two wheels, horses being my taste, but it sounds like a awesome story!
Five friends who have had bad luck with men take a motorcycle trip through the mountains and end up back in the 1880s. Funny at times it is a good start to a series of stories about these women.
When I got this book I was unaware that it was a preview and Not the whole book. Very disappointing. Also the women are not very grateful for the immediate help they received
It was a very good book except for the big cliffhanger at the end. I am not a fan of a big cliffhanger. If I had known that it was, I never would have bought it. The story was good though.
This prequel has me intrigued to read the rest of the series. Interesting take on the contrast of what women faced from 2022 to the 1880's. Alright, Lynn Donovan, I see you girl. 👀
