Greeting adventure seekers, from the treacherous frozen north.
My name is Jeremy Mathiesen, and I’ve wanted to create stories ever since I was a little kid.
I remember being five years old, watching Indiana Jones in the theater, excited and shaking in my seat. As the giant stone rolled towards Indi, I remember realizing that someone, somewhere had created this movie for people like me, and through it, was playing our emotions like a fiddle. It felt like true magic.
I remember, a few years later, seeing The Return of the Jedi with my dad and brother. It seemed like the story I was experiencing reached far beyond what I could see on screen, like the Star Wars universe had a history and depth greater than real life. I knew that one day when I grew up, I wanted to be involved in that kind of creativity.
I was a terrible student. I was held back in elementary school, and suffered from crippling learning disabilities, but always the desire to create stories stuck with me. My teen years were not my favorite. I barely graduated high school, but I was a decent artist. When I was nineteen, I was accepted into animations school. A year later I was hired by Mainframe Entertainment animating cartoons like Reboot and Transformers. It was a lot of fun, but I still wasn’t doing what I felt I was meant to do. At the age of twenty-three, I had the idea for my Cyrus LongBones series. When I turned twenty-eight, with zero writing ability, and dodgy English grades, I decided I was going to write my first book. I joined the West End Writers Group, and the Western Canadian Children’s Writers Group and I started writing every day, and I haven’t stopped since.

This Cyrus LongBones book was pretty good, though I don't remember many mentions of hunes, and i would have liked a guide to what certain things were (like hunes.) was it a Giant Turtle? a type of whale? What is it?

Great read
This was a fitting end to a very good series. A spellbinding series that held my attention all the way through. I would recommend it to the young and young at heart. I am looking forward to more from this author.

In the final book of this series, Cyrus must capture the Hune Gabriel, a giant sea turtle the size of an island, and sail it south to save the village he was forced to leave behind. The Hune is in the hands of an army of Clops, evil creatures created by the Sea Zombie to serve her will. But this group of Clops have equipped the Hune as a battleship and intend to use it to fight against the witch.
The Sea Zombie attacks the Hune shortly after it’s launched, but Cyrus and his friends Fabian the Froskman and Edward the spider manage to fight their way free and sail south to his homeland. Along with an army of poisonous blodbad spiders and clops that have turned to his cause, they rescue the villagers that formerly declared Cyrus a traitor and condemned him to death.
Cyrus must convince his kin to join him, but the same evil villagers that were responsible for his banishment continue to cause trouble with the clops and blodbads. When the Sea Zombie arrives the final battle ensues. Will Cyrus succeed in earning the respect of his people and end the evil witch once and for all?
An exciting read from start to finish, I would recommend all three books in this series. I would, however, suggest they be read in order for clarity and enjoyment.

The series gets darker here.
So this is still a decent book for young readers. The story continues to get darker as the hero makes choices that seem misguided. With everything that Cyrus has gone through in search of a new home for his people it is easy to see that the choices he makes are on the darker side and that he is justifying them as preventing future issues.
His search for the Hune is coming to an end, but now he has to face that he is outnumbered no matter what he chooses to do and is having to pick between actions that will be questioned later.
Once he finds the Hune, he goes back for his people.
Will they still distrust him? Will he be able to save them? Will he be betrayed?
Take the time to read the rest of the book to find out if he is a hero or a villian in the end.

I was blown away with Cyrus story. This series keeps you on the edge of your seat from the moment you start reading to the very end. The twist and turns in this series will leave you begging for more. I wasn’t able to put the book down once I started reading, and it kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to read what happened next. I was totally hooked from book one all the way to this last book. Jeremy Mathesen is a genius with his imagination and stories. I definitely recommend this book and its series to anyone to read. It is simply BRILLIANTLY AMAZING!! If I could give this series more than a five-star rating i would.

Overall, this book was very well written. The scene and battle descriptions were great. However, for me personally, I started to get tired of reading these descriptions and wanted more story and dialog. It was difficult not to start skimming over these sections. It was also difficult because for most of the book, I couldn't stand Cyrus. Although I know this was on purpose, and just goes to show the author is able to accurately portray characters with depth, I found myself just getting annoyed. Fibian was by far my favorite character throughout the entire series. I would definitely read any future stories that may be written about him!

I loved reading this book! An original world filled with unusual, interesting creatures, a unique magic system combine to make this an absolutely enthralling story! I highly recommend it and look forward to more stories written by Jeremy Mathiesen!

Love a good yarn
I love a good story that entertains and holds my interest and these three books pulled it off in spades.

I really enjoyed this book! I've been anticipating its release. I was one of the few who got it early but couldn't read it where I normally would because of policy changes at work. After getting it on Kindle Unlimited, thanks for adding it to KU, I was able to finally start it. Once I did I was so resistant to continue because it started out from the Sea Zombie's perspective. I was resistant because I didn't want the Sea Zombie to feel humanized and for me to start feeling sympathy for the bad guy. I eventually convinced myself that Mr Mathiesen wouldn't do that to his readers and I continued reading. I had to stop several times near the end to regain my composure for work. When I did finish, it was bittersweet. I'm glad for the end but would still love to see more.

Wow what an amazing read. I thought that this series was geared towards a younger audience but alas I was surprised. This is a well written novel with great characters a wonderful world full of mystery. It is basically a tale of good vs evil. With lots of bloodshed, some love, betrayal, friendships, villians and heroes. What else could you want it a book.
Jeremy Mathison is a talented storyteller and a master of flow. This story grabbed the reader from the beginning and refused to let go. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This has not influenced this review in any way.

Cyrus LongBones and the Battle Hune by Jeremy Mathiesen is the last in the Cyrus Longbones series and packs a real wallop! Such an unusual ending to a thrilling fantasy series. Hard to put down until the very exciting end.
What will Jeremy Mathiesen come up with next? Can't wait.
