This is a history of the United States as told through crowds. U.S. history is full of large groups of people coming together. What they want, how they try to get it, and what they end up with all vary tremendously, but the spirit of the American Crowd can be a powerful force, for better or worse. I loved the writer's perspective and I don't believe history can be told with a single narrative. History is a jumbled mess created by forgetful, delusional, and confused people (aka Humanity).
