Rate this book
Rio is a young boy who is misunderstood. He is full of energy and enjoys physical activities. He loves playing basketball, riding his bike and running. These help him release the energy and learn self-regulation skills. Rio's playful and active body gets him into trouble at school. An empathetic teacher supports Rio by listening to him and helping him learn strategies to prevent problems in the future.

Reading this book made me feel better about myself because as a kid I was always labeled as a “hyper kid” so I was able to relate to Rio. I recommend this book to young kids, especially those who may doubt themselves because they think that they are not “normal” due to having more energy or excitement than their peers.

Great read! Must have for the classroom. It provides a lens into the misconception of kids that are filled with energy! Highly recommended!

As a mother of a child with ADHD, Hyper Kid, So They Say is a book I wish had been available when my daughter was a lot younger.

I found it to be deeply resonant. It made me emotional at times, but in a way that ultimately left me hopeful about the future of children who may be struggling to find their place in the world, and grateful to the author for writing this book.

While feeling misunderstood or not fitting in can be hard, this book is an uplifting read that shows readers there are strategies and skills they can learn to manage their feelings and make the most of their unique qualities.

I plan to keep it within easy reach throughout my daughter's childhood years, as a reminder of the importance of self-acceptance, love, and resilience. It will also serve as an ongoing source of encouragement when things feel difficult.

I hope it gets into the hands of everyone who needs to read it!
