3.5*

I went in looking for a mystery with some supernatural elements, there were there but not the main focus. The main foes were the two MCs lusting after each other and fighting it, its more of a romance with obstacles. Tizzy can communicate with the dead, but I feel it was a lost opportunity because I did not see how she or the book benefited from this talent.
Not a bad book really but there were some elements I did not like. Tizzy for one I did not like her personality, she overreact and overthinks. Also why would introduce your kid to a total stranger and then wonder what do to do when said kid is attached?

Kept me guessing! 18+ read

This started out as a cozy mystery with a bit of a paranormal element to it. I don't want to give anything away so I will keep this review brief. Overall this was a fantastic mystery with an enough twists, turns and an ending that I was completely surprised by. The narrator did a great job and was easy to listen to. My only warning is that this was really an 18+ read due to the sexual content. There was only some minor language (no f-bombs) but there was a lot of foreplay in terms of reactions of the character's nether regions, some gropping, before and after bedroom scenes and some nudity, it wasn't overly descriptive but was prevalent enough to be in the PG13-R movie rating. That being said it was an awesome and very entertaining mystery that any adult cozy mystery fan will thoroughly enjoy.

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is a very cute cozy - but I would say it is more romance than mystery. I really enjoyed the MC Tizzy -- she was sassy, humorous, and independent. It is set in a small town - full of secrets/gossip. The story moved along at a good pace. Overall, I found it to be entertaining.

The narrator, Sandra W. Parker, did a very nice job. Each of the characters having a distinctive voice and most with a southern accent.

This book is way more romance (more like teen hormonal romance) than mystery. Tizzy Donavon and her friends do lead you on a good laugh. So I will give this book 3 stars but it is not my cup of tea. I will say that Sandra W Parker does a wonderful job of narrating this book. I would listen to her again and I would give her 5 stars.
I was gifted this audiobook with the understanding that I would leave and honest review.

This was a great small town romance. Ridge a big city detective comes to solve a murder in a small town where everyone grew up together and knows everything about everyone. His number one suspect is beautiful, single, and keeps giving him half truths. Narration was great, and it was a mystery until the very end.

A great cozy mystery - more romance than mystery but I think that made me enjoy it even more. I loved Tizzy and her quirky ability to hear the dead as well as her and Trooper Coopers sweet rhyming names. I loved the twists and turns as well as all the secrets that come out about the players in town while trying to solve this murder mystery. Great story line and good flow - the narrator had some spots that sounded choppy but that's really my only critic. Sweet, southern and smooth this romance, mystery read is a win for me!

I did enjoy this cozy but thought it was more of a romance story than a mystery because the murder for me got lost in the relationship between the two main characters. There was a number of suspects and I did like the characters but thought Tizzy was a strong independent women at the start, very sassy and fun but by the end she had turned in to helpless female in love. Not sure why she was talking to the ghosts in the graveyard and thought the author could have made more of that with the ghost playing a part in the solving of the case instead of just shouting at her.
Widowed mum Tizzy is out jogging at the local cemetery when she stumbles over a body. To make matter worse the dead women is her sister-in-law the woman Tizzy a had a big argument with only hours before, the woman who had always thought Tizzy wasn't good enough for her brother. As this is the first murder case the small town has seen Texas Ranger Ridge Cooper is called in to help solve the crime before Tizzy is arrested.
The narrator was very American but was easy to listen to.

Just one look .........

A good read maybe just a bit too emotional for me with all the lies, affairs and innuendo. A small town Peyton Place. The plot is nicely put together with more than a fair share of suspects and motives. Whilst the characters are real they just seemed a bit too volatile, even the men.
She has heard the dead speak to her for years and has made it a regular stop on her daily jog to visit the cemetery. But finding a dead woman on her dead husband's grave is another matter. He is a Trooper that has been assigned to the case and finds the young widow impossible to ignore. As he investigates the dead woman secret life he is more and more confused but more and more drawn to the widow and her young daughter. Affairs (some going on for years), drugs, lies and half truths are all mixed in with the fact that nobody really liked the dead woman apart from her lovers. Will he find the real killer? Will he go back to his regular job?

If you like sassy Texas romance with a side order of murder, you'll love this one! The good looking Ranger from Pennsylvania is assigned to a small town when an odd murder comes to light. The smart and sassy widow who talks to ghosts is not only the one who finds the body in the town graveyard, but also has a negative history with the victim. Of course everyone in town really dislikes the victim and likes the young widow. A good story!
Narrator Sandra W Parker has the Texas down right and has a great delivery.
