Very solid, though the battle narrative (down to the anecdotes) is distressingly close to that of the uncited Landscape Turned Red. Excellent battle maps and sections dealing with organization, weapons, tactics, supply, and biographical sketches of significant leaders. Would make a great companion to LTR for the ACW novice.
