Welcome back to Planet Omar! The fifth book in Zanib Mian's laugh-out-loud series, with amazing cartoon-style illustrations. Perfect for fans of Tom Gates and Wimpy Kid.
Omar and his friends are taking part in a national rocket building competition. With a little help from Omar's scientist mum and dad and some fart power too, they come up with a rocket that's ready to blast off.
But when someone starts sabotaging the rockets, the boys find themselves on a new mission to reveal the culprit...
*Zanib Mian is a World Book Day author for 2021 with her Planet Omar title, Operation Kind .*
Have you read the first book in the series, Accidental Trouble Magnet ? Love Reading 4 Kids called it ' irresistible reading!'
Zanib grew up in London, UK. She began writing stories and poetry when she was just a little girl, and was well known by her teachers, friends, and family to rhyme about anything that meant something to her. If you’re lucky, she will allow you to see some of her writing, which she has kept safe for over twenty five years! But you might have to visit her in her little Hobbit house in the Shire to see it!
Another brilliant book. Every Planet Omar story is just a delight from beginning to end. In this story, Omar and his friends enter a competition to build the best rocket. However, not everything ends up going to plan!
I absolutely adore the friendship between these children. There's some brilliant moments when Omar realises how powerful friendship is and what he needs to do to help his friends be the best versions of themselves. There's also great advice and support from Omar's parents, Mrs Rogers, Mrs Hutchinson and another unexpected source. The core messages of hard work, love and integrity shine through and continue to make this series one that I constantly recommend to children and adults alike.
Gelezen in het Nederlands (Planeet Omar, Gigantische Raket Explosie). Wat een heerlijk boek. Zeer geschikt voor kinderen van 8/9 of voor oudere kinderen die moeite hebben met lezen. Hoofdpersoon Omar is moslim. Kortom: aanrader!
