Betrayed and left to die in the bowels of Karpella Castle, Torben's plan lies in tatters. He's lost his fortune and an ancient threat has been unleashed on the world of Ulskandar, leaving him to fight for his life. A resurgent evil once again threatens the Kingdom of Dazscor & Aramore. Torben must join friends old and new to thwart the mage Aristotles, or risk the land falling under the shadow of a malign deity that wishes to enslave all to its will. Will Torben have the strength to join a fight hundreds of years in the making - or will he fall prey to the Dead God? This is the large print edition of Heresy, with a larger font / typeface for easier reading.
Originally from the North East of England, C J Pyrah has been steeped in the boundless worlds opened up by fantasy and science fiction ever since he was old enough to read and write. The writings of J.R.R. Tolkien, Philip Pullman, Garth Nix, C.S. Lewis, H.P. Lovecraft, Frank Herbert, Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett have been vastly influential in the creation of Pyrah's literary inventions. In addition, having studied Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Oxford, along with Field Archaeology at the University of York he is also greatly influenced by the myths, legends, cultures and histories of Ancient and Dark Age British Isles, Europe, and the Middle East all of which have very much affected Pyrah's writing and story craft. As a result, many hours of his day are spent scrawling out maps, tweaking invented alphabets and creating histories, pantheons and mythologies for the worlds that he has created and in which his stories are set.
As well as novels, C J Pyrah is also an avid Dungeons and Dragons player where, taking on the mantle of Dungeon Master, he has written and led many campaigns for his players in the home-brew setting of Ulskandar, which is also the setting for Pyrah's novel Legacy, along with the other forthcoming works from The Dead God Series.
A great sequel. The plot progresses at a good place, really pulling you in and building suspense. I loved the rich detail of the fantasy world Ulskandar on history, religion and magic usage. Now I'm impatient for the next instalment!
Great read just like the first in the series, once again leaving the reader with a cliff hangar of an ending. Which only spurs the reader to dive into the next book as soon as possible.
This is a great read. Interesting cast of characters, some very strange, and s story with ss much complexity and plot turns as you need to keep it interesting.
A great sequel to Legacy. The plot progresses at a good pace, really pulling you in and increasing the suspense. I loves the rich detail of the fantasy world Ulskandar on the history, religions and magic usage. Now I'm impatient for the next installment!
