Demons rule the divide between victory and defeat. Not that Archer Belak knows the true nature of the enemy. Special forces, best of the best, leader of the military's most secret unit, Archer will find a way. Best of the best? Ha. Lana Fischer's demon hunting team holds that title, and double the secrecy. She's more than happy to take on whatever's haunting that canyon. Sounds like a couple of alphas, right? Nope, not these two. Lana is carefree, accepting, and won't quit until the job's done. Archer's not gifted at any one thing, but he will fight to the bitter end with every last breath. And it might just take his last breath.
Carrie Thorne is the author of sizzling romance novels, specializing in white-hot chemistry, healthy relationships, and a mix of action and dreamily falling in love. Whether it’s a sinuous flow down a lazy river or evil bad dudes hot on heels, Carrie’s stories will draw you in and ruin your sleep. Happily ever afters are for everyone, and kindness is everything.
She’s also an introvert who loves people, travel, fitness, video games, food, and is a true Pacific Northwesterner who lives for rain and outdoors and trees and mountains and ocean, and… she’s a total dork. At home, she’s lucky to have two creative and confident kids, a witty veteran husband she fell at-first-sight for, and a tiny pup snuggled at her side. In addition to writing romance, Carrie has been a nurse practitioner, a Martian and Earthling geologist, a banker, and she is usually elbow-deep in a DIY project in which she bit off more than she could chew.
Six has been my favorite in this series, until now. I loved the mashup of the Demon Hunters and Echo Squad, and the slowburn romance was to die for! The action, drama, humor and romance made this a highly entertaining and engaging read.

Steamy paranormal romance with a thrilling plot and comical moments After reading the last book in this series about Bennett and Adair, I was so looking forward to this book. I mean who could tame the adventuresome, Lana, Demon Hunter. Her plans were to “play the field” until she was, oh, maybe 100yo or more before settling down. Fate had other plans... Major Archer Balek is the head of the ECHO team of supremely-trained and special ops soldiers who only take on the hardest tasks. Recently they have been plagued with a problem getting through a valley where odd and deadly things happen. They need to get to the other side to eradicate the insurgents stationed at that end of the valley. Several teams have tried but failed to do that. Being a demon hunter, Lana has come to clear out the valley with some other demon-hunter-friends. She knows that Archer and his team can’t do it the normal way. He doesn’t know it yet, but he needs Lana and her team. Lana is just looking for some “fun” when she starts flirting with Archer. But Archer is less a love-them-and-leave-them kind of guy. He’s not going to play her game even if he is thoroughly attracted to her. The evolution of this romance is so well done. I truly enjoyed this book. I found it a little slow in the beginning but once Archer got to see her in action and they reached their destination, the story became more interesting. Of course, the steamy scenes helped too. If you like sizzling PNR stories with humorous dialogue and breathtaking moments toward the happy ending, try this book. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens.
Echo is the fourth book in the Demon Hunter Romance series. It is a standalone, but I encourage you to read the previous 3 books to be able to follow along with the story without wondering what you missed. If you don’t want to read all 3 books before you read this one, then I suggest you at least read Wildest, Book 2.
This book was nothing like I anticipated- it was more. From chapter one, you hit the ground running and are captivated with the happenings of this book. Even though I read apart of this in the teaser in the last book, I was still devouring every word I read. Knowing how Lana is based on her character in the other demon hunter books, I knew her story would be nothing, but extraordinary and one of a kind. Each demon hunter book is different and yet the same and I love how the author intertwines the lives of the demon hunters, missions, and so forth in like an on-going story kinda. I have to admit I am going to be sad when we get to the end of the series.
Lana Fischer is a one of kind woman who has a flair for fashion and a fierce demon hunter. She loves her family, her life’s purpose, and all that are near and dear to her. As her teammates find their mates and the gentle nudge from her parents every now and again, she is slowly thinking about what she wants for her life. Little does she know how one phone call could change her life.
Major Archer Belak is part of a secret elite group of Army Rangers tasked with an impossible and heavy burdened mission. When his team is attacked, he is forced to think outside of the box and seek help from the brother of a friend. With his life devoted to his military career, he has little time for anything else and when he meets his match (unknown to him at the time), his life is turned upside down for the better.
The adventurous romance between Lana and Archer is quite entertaining. Lana is Lana and in parts of the book, I just felt sorry for Archer because she is a force to be reckoned with and overwhelming at times. You just think poor guy doesn’t know what he got himself into and if he keeps that up, I’m not sure he will survive. Playing with fire with fire isn’t always a good thing. OMG, the tension between Lana and Archer was steaming off the pages. The flirting and heated stares made me want to jump in the book and say just do it already. Lol! But knowing Lana, she will do what she wants and how she wants and it will be nothing but epic. And boy was it epic!
Needlessly to say, I enjoyed this book and I didn’t want it to end. There was more I wanted to know and read!! Can't wait for the next book in the series and fingers crossed all the things I want to know will be in there or in the books to come.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants a good book to get lost in for the afternoon and one that will keep you entertained with the action, dirty banter, and steamy tension.
Thank you to Reedsy Discovery for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Expected publication date: September 6, 2022.
Echo is the 4th novel in a series following a cast of demon hunters. In this novel we travel with Lana on a recon mission to help a top secret military team known only as team Echo. While Lana and her military correspondent for this recon mission, Archer, work tirelessly to discover what is killing military personnel, they quickly realize there might be more at stake personally as well as professionally.
I had a chance to read the three previous novels in this series before starting Echo and while you could attempt to read this as a standalone, I wouldn’t recommend it. The author does a great job of filling in new readers and reminding returning readers of the demon hunters powers, traditions, and histories. I think the true advantage of being a returning reader to this series is already having a grasp on the personalities of each character, and understanding how and why they work together so well as a unit.
Lana has been such a fun character to watch throughout this series, and I loved getting a birds eye view into her brain. Her witty banter and her confidence transcends off the page. Archer was her perfect match, and I loved seeing their dynamic when they were alone, with the Echo’s, and with Lana’s team of hunters. You could tell how much their teams valued both Lana and Archer as friends, and seeing them rally together around these two characters made me smile while reading.
This novel, and series, is a perfect read for fantasy romance enthusiasts. The demon hunter lore, along with their prey, felt fresh in a genre that is saturated with retellings. At times this series can be gory, gritty, and a little on the dark side when it comes to the fighting sequences as well as the descriptions of the demons causing havoc. While it doesn’t reach the point of creating nightmares, it was a departure from the sexy vampires and werewolves that dominate fantasy today (although don’t get me wrong, books 2 and 3 in this series definitely have their fair share of both).
While I do recommend this series and author to fantasy romance readers, I personally had a little trouble connecting to the author’s voice right away. It wasn’t until I started book 3 that I could confidently say I was hooked with this world and these characters. My advice if you decide to give this series a try is to not give up if you don’t feel the spark right off the bat. I truly believe each book, and relationship, got better and better.
Echo, Book 4 in the Demon Hunters Romance series by Carrie Thorne is refreshing and brilliant. Firstly, I have to say that I love this series. Even though each story is interwoven with a core group of people who are demon hunters (and found family), each book is vastly different and just makes this series exciting and unpredictable.
I have been anticipating Lana’s book ever since she was introduced to readers as she is so sexy, fun, and feisty. I mean, come on, her weapon of choice is a battle axe!!
Archer is the captain of Echo squad, a special military group who are usually sent in to handle the extreme situations of warfare. His squad are now facing a ‘situation’ that will require some extra assistance, which is where Lana comes in.
When Lana and Archer meet there is instant chemistry, and it just keeps building… and building. Gah! Talk about slow burn. It nearly killed me, but it was soooo good and so smexy.
I loved the author’s different take on the usual Special Forces Alpha hero type. Archer is amazing and just like Lana I wanted to lick him all over. It was pure joy to read how their relationship developed and obstacles were overcome so that they could find their happily ever after. This book is paced with slow burn angst, adorable romance, supernatural creatures, witty banter, loads of action and kickar$e characters – I highly recommend it.
This book can be read as a standalone but for full enjoyment I suggest you read the three previous books. If you love paranormal romance, you really need to check out this series, there is so much action, adventure and romance these books are the perfect escape.

After reading the Foothills series, I became a big Carrie Thorn fan. And when I saw an ARC opportunity for Carrie Thorne, I jumped at it! It wasn’t until I began reading this book that I realized that I was a bit lost. Unbeknownst to me, this is the fourth in a series of which I was unfamiliar with and quite different from the contemporary romance that I’d usually associate with Carrie Thorne.
So I took a bit more time and read the first book in the series , Six (which is currently free) to bring me up to speed a bit. Turns out that Echo is a complete standalone and reading the previous books isn’t a requirement although I do recommend it! I loved both Six and Echo so that when I looked into the second book, Wildest, I immediately purchased it since it was on sale!
If you like some paranormal mixed with suspense and steam, then this book and series is for you!
I loved Archer! It’s kind of impossible not to! Sweet, sexy, swole!!! That about sums him up. Lana was equally as great! Got to love a b@d@$$ woman! The chemistry between them was fire!!!
I honestly can’t wait for the next book!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Echo is the fourth book in Carrie Thorne’s Demon Hunter Romance Series. This book is an action packed paranormal, romance novel filled with amazing and quirky characters, intense passion, and a great love story.
The chemistry between Archer Belak and Lana Fischer was intense and off the charts from the moment they met and I loved the flirty give and take between them as they battled an unknown enemy while working to trust each other. Their connection and bond steadily grows but will it be enough the save Archer? Read it and find out!
This book was a great addition to this amazing new series. All the books in The Demon Hunter Romance Series contain a happily ever after and can be read as a standalone, however, reading it in order will give you a better appreciation for the characters and the series itself. I can’t wait for the next book!
This is a voluntary review of a copy received from BookSirens.
It took me a minute while reading Archer's first chapter to get back into the demon hunter world. I kept trying to remember who Archer was from previous stories, but he is new.
Archer is as much of a superhero as a human can be. He is a member of a hush hush military team sent to do what others can't. The problem is they come across something even they can't handle. Enter Lana and her team.
I loved these two together. The banter is amazing. There is so much unbelievably hot flirting. We get to see a new team and Lana's hunter team figure out how to trust and work together.
A great addition to the series and a story that can be read as a stand alone. I am a huge fan of the author's writing style. Sue creates a world I want to explore more of and not put down. I cannot wait for the next story!

This was my first book by this author, but it won’t be my last. I wish I found this series earlier. Reading the earlier books would give a little more context, but it’s not necessary to read it to understand. This is a wonderful paranormal adventure romance. It has many adventures and a badass heroine, she is not overly arrogant but fully confident in her abilities. I think if I read the previous books I’d have an even better appreciation for her.
The MMC is a beautiful hot military nerd… is there anything better? He is badass, but not afraid to take a step back when it’s obvious he’s out of his depth.
I loved the chemistry and the slow build between the characters despite the instant attraction.
Wonderful adventure and descriptive scenes so I can see it happening in my head like a movie.

Epic journey of saving mankind Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2022 This story has the character asking so many questions about life. What do we really know about the world? Is there magic of some sort? Do different species exist? Even about their own journey. There are the 2 main characters one having to decide her fate at a young age and knowing exactly what her purpose in life is. The other main character questions his , he has chosen to become an elite soldier . He comes to his realization that at what cost does he stay trying to save all from the terrors of war. The strong thread that holds all of this together is loyalty commitment and love. The story is quite the adventure! It can be read totally alone. A bit confusing in just the beginning but if you read the series it will all make PERFECT sense!!!!! Soooooo just read all of these wonderful stories in this series.
Echo is the fourth book in the Demon Hunters series. It is a stand-alone book but previous books may add a deeper understanding of some of the characters. It is not necessary to have read the earlier books to enjoy this steamy paranormal romance.
Demon Hunter Lana is feisty and independent and carefree. She has no plans for romance or settling down.
Archer is the no nonsense head of elite team ECHO with a job to do.
They have to work together to defeat the demons. Sparks and banter fly but getting the job done could cost them everything.
This book has plenty of action and some lighter moments, the characters are great but the angst between the two main characters gets repetitive and extremely annoying.
Overall a good read but I did find my attention straying on occasion. Fans of this genre and author will enjoy this book.
Great romance packed with supernatural action! I love this addition to the series. This story is continuation of the adventures of the Demon Hunter from Alaska. Lana, the take-no-prisoner heroine in the story finally met her match with Special Forces, Archer Belak who is faced with an enemy that his team could not even see nor defeat. The chemistry between the two sizzles off the pages, and their banter was both funny and sexy. I love that Archer is the direct opposite of Lana when it comes to emotional/romantic entanglements. Highly recommended for those who love witty, well-written, supernatural romance! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
**I received this ARC from Book Sirens and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.** I love this series. I had a couple of issues with this one though that stopped me from giving it the full five stars. 1) I know it's an ARC, but there were quite a few editing mistakes that made it slightly irritating to read. 2) I really enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters, but at the same time, something was slightly off about it. I can't decide if it was the almost CONSTANT, she's out of my league from Archer, or the will you kiss me from Lana.
The paranormal military activity in this book is excellent. The slow burn—yum—I'm not sure you could make it tenser. I loved the story and the characters. The supporting characters are just as easily interesting as the main ones and the banter and interaction is well done. My only reservation about giving this four stars is the number of proofreading errors in it. I'm not sure what happened. I've read this whole series so far and none of the others had this issue. So if you go batty over errors like this, skip this one and read all the others in the series. -I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Echo was definitely an improvement over Changed! The storyline was better, the characters were more developed, and the editing (though still filled with issues) was better than the last book in this series. However, compare to Six and even Wildest, this book was still lacking. I felt like there needed to be more character interaction and less scenery descriptions, but I did like that the male MC was human. This led to an interesting ending. Still a good book with a few steamy scenes and some action.
Archer's human team is the best of the best. They take on situations throughout the world that have little chance of success and they succeed. Lana's demon hunting team is the same. When it comes to badass-ery the teams are well matched except Archer's team has been pitted against a supernatural demon that won't be taken down and he needs Lana's expertise. Lots of twists and turns, terrifying moments, danger and steamy love. An absolute page turner! I received this ARC and this is my honest review.
I freakin' love this series. It's unique and well-written, and each love story is so different and totally unexpected. Carrie delivered another great read with this book. I was drawn if from the first moment. I love how she weaves together everyday problems with a paranormal world. This book also included the military heroes aspect which was an added bonus in my opinion. I can't wait for the next book and don't want the series to end.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
OOOOOHHHHHH, I think this was my favourite yet! Lana's badass-ness always appealed to me and she's totally met her partner and match in Archer. The combination of lovingly, awesome characters with a calling to protect built in to their DNA makes for great read. Hot scenes, character banter and a HEA make this well written story a 5 star read. I can not wait for Vann's story. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the first book i have read from this author and i will definitely be reading more.
Firstly i have to mention the dedication i loved it.
Echo is a fantastic demon romance i didn't want to put it down. The storyline was exciting and never got boring. I loved the sexual tention and romance between the two main characters.
loads of action with banter, flirting and characters that you will love.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is The fourth book in the series and they keep getting better and better. Absolutely loved the play between Lana and Archer. Right from their first meeting till the very last page the chemistry between the two was sweet, sexy, funny and heartbreaking. This was my favourite so far and finished with a day as could not put down
Lana & Archer's adventure Wow! Really an exhilarating, enjoyable page turner that has an abundance of excitement, drama and mystery. You will love the main characters Lana and Archer with their wittiness, strength and dedication to their work. There's sparks between them that will draw you in. An interesting adult suspenseful romance. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
What a great addition to this series! How wonderful to have the male lead not be perfect! The glasses, the dyslexia, he has overcome all of it to become the leader of his elite squad. Nothing stopped him from getting the job done. He is everything Lana didn't know she wanted but absolutely needed. I really got a kick out of him keeping her at arms length just long enough for her to really see him. Great book! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I LOVE this series!!!!! I loved Lana and Archer's story. You find yourself cheering for them! I really like touching base with all the team members in each book, it's like reconnecting with old friends again!!! I can't wait to see what is in store for Vann. You can't go wrong with this series!!! Enjoy!
I do Love a good Demon Romance and this story really makes me feel happy with the it. This does have it's steam which I do appreciate and enjoy! The bottom line is that I really Loved It!!! Great story, characters, plot and action!!
I received an ARC from BookSirens and I am Leaving this Totally Honest Review because I Enjoyed every page!!!
I thought this was a great book and I thought the interplay with the characfters were very well thought out and written for and this is my opinon. I thoughht storyline was well written and made everything move along and made more sense to me in my opinon. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a standalone in the demon hunter series. Lana and Archer have to work together to defeat the Demons. Lana has no plans to settle down and Archer is the head of an elite team. You get Suspense, laughs, sexual scenes, great plot and HEA. I would advise reading the others first to give you a better story.
This will probably be the best book in the series. There is never a dull or dead moment in this story. The heat, desert and otherwise, is almost palpable. The characters are brave and reckless, and their interactions are the stuff of legends. Enjoy.

Perfect addition to this series! Exceptionally written, fabulous characters and breath taking action. swoonworthy and enthralling from the very beginning to the very last sentence.
