This one was so fun! I identify so much with Brick and all his fumbles. It’s endearing. Jagger has his insecurities too, they’re just better hidden. Their journey to find the truth of the prophecy was dangerous, exciting, and very hot! I enjoyed it thoroughly. Got to go get the first of the series now!

It's been a while since I've read a book by Bailey Bradford, and I went into this book thinking that the story would go a certain way. I definitely did not expect the way this book went.

In a magical realm, Brick is unusual. He was born into a royal family of wyverns who all have no problem with shifting. He, however, has an allergy to magic and doesn't do well with shifting. He feels different than his whole family, though they do love him. At the ceremony for the wedding of the elf king/queen, he finds out that he will be married off to an elf due to a prophecy, which means he'd have to be around even more magic. He nopes out of that situation fast, and meets up with a random elf in a tavern. Due to a series of misfortunes, he and the elf (who turns out to be Jagger, the son of the chancellor, and his potential groom) decide to team up and find out if there could be another meaning to the prophecy.

I was initially intrigued by this world, as well as Brick and his family. However, there is way too much world-building without explanation. It felt like each chapter there was a new being introduced (hobgoblins, Stymph birds, etc) and they ether try to hinder our MCs or to help them. I just felt like there was too much packed in one book that the romance was mostly overlooked. And that's a shame, because two flawed beings who initially felt so opposed to being together found out that they just worked. The bond was great to see.

I didn't read the first book in this series, but I am definitely going to make an effort to go back and read it soon. That said, I don't feel like I needed to have read the first book to read this one, so feel free to jump into this book if you want. Wyvern Ways and Elven Magic was a fun adventure fantasy romance that I would be happy to read again and again.

Brick is a wyvern prince on his way to the Elven kingdom for a wedding. Unfortunately, Brick has an allergy to magic and the kingdom is full of magic. I felt for Brick; he feels like he's the most useless member for his family and can seemingly never do anything right. I was happy to see that his family was supportive and loving no matter what happened. Jagger is a royal adjacent councilor, but avoids most of his duties. He is carefree and only wants his next sexcapade; who wants a mate when there are so many people to enjoy? When it's announced that Brick and Jagger will be married to strengthen the ties between the two kingdoms, both of them go out of their way to avoid their fate, prophesy or not.

This story had humor and adventure in all the right amounts. As Brick and Jagger try to get back to the castle after being hunted down by all manner of creatures and bounty hunters, they both learn some lessons. I liked seeing Brick apply the knowledge that he had and gain confidence in himself. I liked seeing Jagger learning to care for others, especially Brick and realize a mate is not what he thought it would be. They do a great job of solving problems together when it really counts. The end of their quest was tough, but also fitting once they learn why they ended up on their adventure in the first place. These two are great together, and I'm glad they finally figured that out.

Brick’s last boyfriend told him, “Brick by name and brick by nature and brick by color“. He was so not a BRICK. He was slow and plain but still not a BRICK. His allergy to magic and being a bit of a klutz, didn’t make him a BRICK. Totally dull against his vibrant families colors. It was time to man up, admit he’s a brick, and run away. What could go wrong. When Brick lays eyes on the incredibly naked, incredibly sexy, incredibly everything, elf. He decides he can take some time and run away later. Thus starts the courtship of Jagger the elf and Brick the.....Wyvern.

Cute story, complete with a life altering quest, strange bad guys, an orgy (because every good quest deserves a orgy), and true love found.

I love a good B movie full of impossible odds, crazy problems, a beautiful hero/heroine in distress and ugly bad guys. This would make a great B movie. With a happy ending about a BRICK who wasn’t.

I’m loving this series, writing is nicely constructed to give a bit of background and gives our heroes the story they deserve.

Fulfilling the Prophecy . . .

Brick’s a wyvern shifter with an allergic reaction to magic. Now in the elf kingdom for a royal wedding, he is unhappy that he is to be traded off in a wyvern-elf alliance treaty to fulfill a prophecy, so he decides to leave. Unfortunately, he needs to find a guide to get him out of the elf territory.

Jagger is an elf who wants nothing to do with serving the king and other such responsible behavior. He also doesn’t want to be tied down with a mate when there is so much out here for his enjoyment. He wants to have fun. So when Brick asks at the tavern for a guide, he is led to Jagger’s room. Finding the elf naked on the bed should have warned him of things to co… (oops, bad word) … happen. But the two of them start on an adventure of fun, danger, mystery, bad guys, and the start of something very special between the two of them. One cannot outrun one’s Fate, it seems.

This is a cute story and a fun read. The characters are unforgettable. Grab your copy and enjoy their story.

Something about book - cover, peeling back a layer, is fun! Brick is an absolute delight. He loves his family and they love him. He has a few foibles, that set him apart from them, grand canyon distance. He discovered they had a solution to his oddities that would help them solidify their relationships and find him a home, whether he wanted it or not. Jagger, had his own family sized baggage he drags with him. He was full of a bit of michief to make life more interesting for all. Jaegger wanted to avoid the mate bond because of his perceived bad experience. The prophecy, states the wyvern will help the elves and vice versa. There is a bit of intrigue and malfeasance among the groups. Brick and Jagger, meet by chance and have intense emotions. The courting dance is hilarious! These two do a fancy cha cha, quick step, tango through their relationship. Do they slow down and listen? Do they talk? Do they get to know the real Brick and the real Jagger? Fun read, well done! Wyvern Brick is traveling in a coach to try and help his allergy to magic which abounds in the Elvin kingdom where his family is attending the wedding of the Storm King. Once in the castle he overhears he will be bonded to a member of the court so slips out of the castle through the kitchens wanting to drink and forget for a while. Elf Jagger is a royal-adjacent at the Storm King's Court and is told about the prophesy and that it involve him along with a member of the Ruby Court. Not wanting to be bonded he heads for his favorite Inn. A paranormal adventure romance to entertain you when you want to escape from reality for a few hours.

I received a copy of Wyvern Ways and Elven Magic by Bailey Bradford from Pride Publishing. It is always interesting to see if the subsequent books in a series live up to the first. I’m happy to say I liked this book as much as the first one. Brick is another seemingly underappreciated member of his family who decides to go his own way. He needs help and finds it in Jagger who initially is just a hookup. Once again their adventures are entertaining. I really enjoyed the twist at the end of the book, which as all twists do, put a new light on Brick and Jagger’s experiences. I truly hope we get to read a story about the human they encounter on their journeys. His background is unlike any I’ve read about before and considering I read three hundred books a year that is saying something!

The book description alone had me hooked before I even started to read. Sounded light, fun, flirty, and very sexy. Did the book fulfill those expectations? And how! This book is incredibly entertaining. I loved the characters and the crazy set-up. There is a bit of opposites attract here, with Brick seeming - well - bland, which really just means he doesn't fit in with the rest of his family, and then Jagger, who is interested in fun, sexy times, and NO responsibility. When the two join together for an adventure, hi-jinx are sure to ensue. This was my first read by this author, and I definitely want to read more from her, starting with the first book in this series.

There's nothing like finding out the hot guy you've just hooked up with is actually the betrothed you've been trying to escape-- and so begins the adventures of Jagger the elf and Brick the wyvern. Their story is a great blend of heat and humor (a wyvern with a magic allergy...an elf who can make an off colour joke about just about anything) and their quest takes place in a beautifully developed world full of supernatural oddness, much of it either deadly or horny. A fun read.

Brick trying to leave before being forced into a bonding with an elf runs into Jagger when looking for a guide. They are very attracted to each other and act on it. They face many challenges as they go to the Horrorcle to contest the prophecy and learn to conquer their fears. In the end they accept their bonding and find out that their parents were behind all the challenges.

I liked Wyvern Ways & Elven Magic by Bailey Bradford. I liked Brick and Jagger. I liked that while trying to run away from a prophecy that would see him in an arranged marriage with an elf, Brick ends up with his intended at a tavern without being aware of who the elf is. Then they definitely have an adventure going to the sacred area to find out if their families have interpreted the prophecy correctly. I thought it was an entertaining story with plenty of steamy scenes.

Two men, one who is a wyvern and one who is an elf, who don’t really fit in with their families drawn together by a prophecy end up traveling together and enjoy one another’s company. This is essentially the plot of this story, but there is so much more to it than that including some really well written and hot scenes. I liked this book and hope to read more in this series.

I have been reading Ms. Bradford's books for years and this new series is such a fun read. Brick who is wyvern, do not insult them by calliing them a dragon, is allergic to magic. His family traveled to the Elven world for a royal marriage and he is told that he is to be married off to an elven royal. He decides to run away and ends up having the trip of a lifetime. Jagger and Brick are the perfect couple and love how they figured it out in the end.

This was such a fun and entertaining read. I loved both Jagger and Brick along with the adventure they experienced together. They were strong, very provocative and watching them as they fell in love with each other was simply beautiful. I enjoyed the storyline and all of the wonderful supporting characters. Looking forward to more in this alluring series.

This is the first book of this series that I have read and I loved it. It didn't hamper me by not having read the previous book first. This the story of Brick and Jagger. Brick is a wyvern of the ruling family. He is a bit of klutz, allergic to magic and has difficulty shifting. He has been told (and honestly believes) that he is dull, uninteresting and least capable of his family. In spite of his perceived shortcomings, he knows that his family loves him. So he is shocked to learn that he is to be married to an elf to fulfill a wyvern-elf alliance treaty. This would mean that he would never escape magic and make his life miserable. He decides to run away but needs an elf to show him the way out of the kingdom. Enter Jagger. He is taken to the room that Jagger is in at the bar. Mistaking the reason that he is there, Jagger decides to seduce the unsuspecting Brick. Jagger is an elf and the son of the chancellor. He has no interest in politics at all. He doesn't want or believe in relationships or permanence. If you are looking for fun time, Jagger is your elf. That is the beginning of this fun and sexy adventure. The two decide that they need clarification on the truth of the prophecy. Perhaps there is more than one way to interpret it. This is their action and fun filled adventure. It is well written and easy to read. The story just flows along and takes you on a wonderful journey. I really liked this book.
