This book had more to do with how Mesa Verde became a National Park. We begin with a brief overview of the Pueblo people, but move quickly into how and when it was "discovered," the process of excavation and the notable participants of such, tourism, funding, advocacy etc. This book was less interesting to me than The Mesa Verde World, but it had information that was important to know in terms of grasping how and why Mesa Verde National Park is funded and preserved to this day.
