This book really had potential, however, it failed to get a firm grip.

The story revolves around a women, Lizzie, who has begun to feel isolated and depressed following a breakup with the man she thought was her perfect match. Following some prompting and as a way to restore her self-esteem, Lizzie puts herself back on the dating 'trail' and becomes involved in a variety of sexual relationships with a variety of people.

Although this does involve slightly erotic content, this book is really about a women re-establishing her self-worth and attempting to rid herself of the demon of depression. Of course, she ends up running into a few obstacles on the way. Unfortunately, these obstacles keep putting her back to square one rather than give her a positive attitude that she had at least tried and had been unsuccessful, and that she could dust herself off and start again. That was the part that I didn't like.

Another point that irked me was that I did like the explicit erotica content, but I would have preferred it to have been expanded a little bit, as it was it lasted only a couple of paragraphs at most i.e. too rushed. I enjoy erotica when it is appropriate to the story and character and Lizzie certainly acted as a sexual creature, and enjoyed the sexual encounters, when the opportunities presented themselves. [A slight spoiler, this gave me a bit of an extra annoyance when Lizzie became involved in a (very) brief lesbian encounter. She accepted the sexual relief, but straight away ran off without returning the 'favour'.] These moments had me wondering if that was what she was missing rather than the man who had left her broken-hearted.

I loved the twist at the end.

Overall, I did enjoy the book but it just kept me wanting that little bit more, as described above.

It was one of the most boring stories I have listened to. Though the narrators were very good, the story was not appealing. I was just counting the time to finish this book just to be completely fair before writing the review.
