I went into this with high expectations because the movie was such a masterpiece of storytelling with barely any dialogue. I figured that should be translated to sequential storytelling. However, the results were mixed.

The production value of the hardcover is excellent; nicely bound and thick matted interior pages. Boom! lives up to its reputation for quality comics. The story though was a different matter.

The book tried to recapture the charm of the movie but it just doesn't work for me. I found it hard to finish reading because the scenes were too repetitive. The pacing was too static for me. This could warrant a different approach because I've read some silent comics and they were pretty good. This just felt a little flat.

Okay, I probably loved this so much because it's Wall-E. I mean, he's SO CUTE<3!! I would have given this book 5 stars just because of him, and I'm even tempted to buy it. I loved the illustrations but in terms of having a plot? Well there wasn't one. You see Wall-E while he comes across new objects & toys and thats about it! A cute read for children though!

I don’t really know what to say. It’s almost feels to brief to count towards my GoodReads goal. Do I care? Nope. So here we are!

Wall-E is cute. I don’t think there are many situations he could be put in where he isn’t. But cuteness does not translate to many other things, such as story. It’s surprisingly hard to follow for a kids comic book, mainly because of a lack of meaningful dialogue apart from assorted Wall-E noises.

P.S. This book can never reach above 3 stars because the artist can’t draw Hal the Cockroach. Like, seriously, I hate bugs, but Pixar managed to make me love Hal. This artist created a bunch of scurrying demons, not the Hal I loved...

I had high hopes for this book but I just didn't seem to get it. Although the movie was a masterpiece, the "silent" characters just don't seem to work in a graphic novel style book. The artwork is nice, but I don't think young readers will keep their interest in a book that has no continuing conversation.

My favorite Animated Movie movie has a prequel???

I never thought I would tear up over a cockroach. This slice of life was precious while also acknowledging the incredible weight of loneliness Wall-e was left with.

A huge thank you to McDowell for bringing this to my attention and making a wonderful reading of the comics which included SFX work and sound bits from the movie. It truly brought these 4 episodes to life!

Ho trovato questo fumetto a un prezzo da "vogliamo liberarcene" e forse sono da biasimare perché ADORO il film d'animazione da cui nasce, ma l'ho trovato adorabile. Si tratta di un prequel dell'originale, in realtà, e contiene pochissimo "dialogo", anzi non lo si può nemmeno chiamare dialogo. Ma non servono davvero parole per capire la storia che vuole raccontare e i disegni sono bellissime.
