Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Disney's Wonderful World of Reading), Walt Disney Company
The Grimm fairy tale gets a Technicolor treatment in Disney's first animated feature. Jealous of Snow White's beauty, the wicked queen orders the murder of her innocent stepdaughter, but later discovers that Snow White is still alive and hiding in a cottage with seven friendly little miners. Disguising herself as a hag, the queen brings a poisoned apple to Snow White, who falls into a death-like sleep that

In Walt Disney's story of Snow White, we learn about flawless Princess Snow White who lives in a castle with her wicked stepmother the Queen. Sadly, Snow White's father, the King, has passed away leaving her no choice but to live with the Queen.
The Queen was very jealous of Snow White and always competed with her to be the fairest one of all of the land. The Queen would always ask the Magic Mirror 'Who is the fairest one of all?'
Then one day, the Queen's vanity got the better of her and she sat

I read the Disney picture book version of this story, and just out of curiosity I read the Brothers Grim version of the story. I had a friend who told me about how the original translations of their stories are pretty insane, and seemed to have been written to scare young children into good morals. I think the version I read was still cleaned up a bit from the original, but there was still one part that was included that I can definitely see why it was cut out of the Disney version. The stepmoth ...more

Snow white is a beautiful princess. The wicked queen is jealous of her beauty and orders the huntsman to kill her when her magic mirror says snow white is the fairest in all the land. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Is a great adventurous tale to read. Snow White is born so beautiful just like her mother had hoped for but unfortunately Snow's mother died shortly after. Snow's father the king remarried little did he know that he married a vain evil woman. Snow White was treated so terribly by the evil queen. She made her wear rags, clean, and sent her to the servant chambers. One day the queen realized how pretty snow was so she had a huntsman send her to the forest kill her. ...more

This book was a very feel good book. The story was about an evil queen who lived in a castle and so did Snow White. The queen wanted to be the prettiest in all the land so she asked her mirror if she was and the mirror had always replied that she was but this time, it replied that Snow White was. The queen was very angry and sent someone to kill her but he couldn’t, he loved her too much so he told her to run. She ran and ran until she came to a house of the seven dwarfs, but no one was home. So ...more

As a child this was one of my favorite disney movies, so I thought i would read the book. I love how the book and the movie are similar. However in the book I like the context between the characters more than I do in the movie. Snow White was a beautiful princess with an evil stepmother. Her beauty was what she was known for and her step mother tried taking it away. With the help of the seven dwarfs and her prince charming, snow white survived the step mothers poisonous apple. Today, they recent ...more

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was one of my most favorite children’s books when I was little! I loved looking at the different pictures in the book because they are so colorful and bright and I love that they are painted with water color because to me, it makes the images look light and beautiful which I think go along perfectly with the fairy tale. I also noticed the facial expressions on each page and I think that they really add to the feeling and mood that the book creates. They show the e ...more

I read the book "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". Snow White's stepmother was jealous of her beauty. She hires a huntsman to kill Snow White. The huntsman couldn't kill her, so he let her go. Snow White ran through the woods and came across a small house filled with dwarfs. I liked this story because it shows love, hate, and compassion. I would recommend this book to kids who are learning to read, because it is an easy read.

This book is about a princess, Snow White, who hides in the forest in the house of seven dwarfs to hide from her stepmother. The Queen is jealous because she wants to be known as "the fairest in the land," and Snow White is way more beautiful than her. The dwarfs grow to love their unexpected visitor, who cleans their house and cooks their meals. But one day while the dwarfs are at their diamond mine, the Queen arrives at the cottage disguised as an old peddler woman and persuades Snow White to ...more

This is an awesome children book about Snow White. Snow White stumbbled upon a house full of dwarfs one day and they became her friends. An evil queen was jealous of snow white and tried to poison her with an apple. The queen was jealous of Snow White's beauty. This book could be used to teach about vanity and jealousy.
Not my favorite.

The Magic Mirror informs the Queen that Snow White is now the fairest in the land. The jealous Queen orders a reluctant huntsman to take Snow White into the woods and kill her. She further demands that the huntsman return with Snow White's heart in a jeweled box as proof of the deed. The huntsman encounters Snow White but decides not to harm her. He tearfully begs for her forgiveness and urges her to flee into the woods and never come back, bringing back a pig's heart instead.

It's a little difficult for me to rate this plot wise since I'm already so well acquainted with Disney's Snow White so I'm just going to rate this based on my experience reading this translation.

I was reading this around 10 pages a day to strengthen my Chinese reading skills (as I am Chinese but my speaking/reading skills have greatly diminished over the past 5 years since I've been in college). I decided to pick up this book and read out loud to my mom who helped me with words, idioms

This was an interactive e-book adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It provided a page for parents that explained the “educational” experiences their children would have. It also provided readers with the option of having a narrator read to them, read by themselves, or auto read. However, during the read myself option they can click the text and are given the option of listening to a narrator tell the story. On the other hand, when the reader chooses to have the story read to them, the ...more
The Little Golden Books filled my childhood library. In Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Snow White’s stepmother, the Queen, tries to have her killed by a hunter so that she can be the fairest of them all according to her mirror on the wall. Snow White ends up escaping and finding a small cottage where the Seven Dwarfs live as her sanctuary. Snow White and the dwarfs end up creating an odd family combination, but a family none the less. When the Queen finds out Snow White has not been killed she ...more
