The Dragon Empress follows its previous instalments in regaling us with tales of Delinda and her role as Dragon Empress. Having battled for what she desires most before, Delinda should know that the path to greatness and glory never did run smooth. However, this time...it isn’t just her men and her happiness that she has to think about. Tasked with ruling over her dragons and showing them that she is the rightful Empress, Delinda must navigate her way through love, lust and loss whilst juggling motherhood - with her baby proving just how powerful and precious they are - and accepting her own murky past. Will Delinda crack under the weight of her responsibilities or will she rise up to them?
This book is an enticing, exciting and invigorating instalment to an already well established series. Packed with punches, passion and pace, this book has everything you need and more. The plot is exciting. It leaves you constantly craving and unable to put the book down until you’ve read the very last page! Eve Newton has a way of weaving a plot so beautifully that you feel connected to the characters and their stories on a deeper, more emotional level. Their passion becomes your passion, their problems become your problems and their successes are your stories too.
The characters stepped up a notch once again in instalment. Their development embedded so naturally that you felt like you saw another side to them all, especially as they each embarked on their own journey to parenthood. It was lovely to see how this natural maternal and paternal instinct marked itself in the plot without distracting from the storyline and the sensual scenes. You saw another side to already well-written and received characters that allowed you to fall into their charm. You were hooked on their individual successes and stories because you felt connected to each of them. This was beautifully done by Eve.
The sensual scenes had everything you could possibly want and more. Intoxicating, passionate and enticing...they leave your heart pounding and your body aching for more. Beautifully written with precise detail and weaved with electricity that left my toes curling.
All in all, a fantastic instalment and I can’t wait to see what the next one has in store!
