This is one of my well-loved, well-used cookbooks. Although I’m a vegetarian and the book isn’t, there are many either originally vegetarian dishes in it or some of the non-vegetarian recipes can be converted easily. The section about Jewish tradition is quite interesting and a great read as well.
I cannot say enough good about this book. This is a dynamic guide to Jewish food from all over the world. There are recipes from Jewish communities all throughout the Diaspora, which means yummy recipes from Eastern Europe, Spain, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Morocco, Africa and more. I turn to this book when I want to invite friends over for that special shabbat dinner. They are always delighted to try Jewish food from a global perspective!
