I finished Christa Yelich-Koth's 4th book in her Detective Trann series, (aka the Spider series). Like the first three, it hums with tension, plot twists, and unexpected reveals. The characters are very well developed, with all of them enmeshed in violence and murder.
All in the course of three days!!!
The book picks up right after the third book ends. Imagine an avalanche, starting slowly, then gathering speed and power unitil if engulfs a mountain side. That describes Spider's Rift, only the avalanche starts with the mountain side that ends with the force and fury still increasing!
Ms. Yelich-Koth is a tremendous storyteller! Her overarching story line leaves me breathless. You don't have to read the first three books to enjoy Spider's Rift, but I strongly recommend them.
Readers often describe how they "couldn't put book down". I found that I had to make sure to breathe because I held my breath so many times because of the intensity of the action!!
I know there is going to be at least one more book in the series! I look forward to it!!!

Yelich-Koth has done it again! More complexity, more intrigue, more twists and turns with a blockbuster ending. The Spider series has left everything on the table, and I've gobbled these goodies up as fast as they come out. These books have surprised, sometimes even shocked, but only because Yelich-Koth is so good at inserting the unthinkable into what seems to be the ordinary.
I'm not able to guess where the next (and last) book is headed, but, as all the rest in this series, I have no doubt it will amaze and satisfy.

Almost threw my Kindle!
Now THAT is how you write a cliffhanger! I swear I think I suffered ocular damage from looking between the words of the book and how much reading time was left. That's both the worst and the best feeling as a reader. I've already pre-ordered Book 5!
