Първата книга на Салгари, която чета и честно казано плучих това, което очаках - кратка, изпълнена с екшън и наивна безумна смелост на главните герои. Накратко, любимата на рицар е отвлечена от алжирски пирати и той тръгва да я спасява. В Алжир намира съюзници, които са му помогнат... както и много врагове. В крайна сметка, сред реки от кръв и смърт на безброй NPC-та всичко приключва добре... за главния герой, разбира се.
Романът не блести кой знае с какво, но и няма как да бъде произведение на изкуството. Определено е приятен начин да си прекараш свободното време.
