This Rookie Read-About Science book takes young readers to the moon to see rocks and craters. It tells about astronauts walking on the moon and what they saw when they looked at Earth from the surface of the moon. It explains the various shapes of the moon that we see from Earth. And, one day, perhaps the young readers will be able to visit the moon themselves.

Easy, large-print words, and simple sentences help young readers interact with this book. An illustrated “Words You Know” section reinforces the young reader’s understanding.

Highly recommended, especially for young readers interested in science, the moon, and space travel.

Easy and educational book about the moon. If you have a kiddo interested in space, this is a great primer. It briefly covers the moon phases, what the moon looks like, picture of astronauts, and picture of earth from the moon. Could be good for a storytime if the theme is specifically about space/the moon, or a one-on-one read aloud. Its simplicity is why it's only getting 4 stars. Themes could be moon, space, or science.
