A nice, simple story about a little boy who's mother is expecting a baby. This made me smile when heavily pregnant mum told her little boy she was about to give birth, what went on in little ones heads in those days?! mummy had suddenly become enormous in one area but no questions asked. I'm glad this isn't the case today.
A nice story about growing up and discovering you are about to be blessed with a sibling.
This is a family favorite. I’ve had it since I was very young, and now have read it many times over the years to my five children. I still struggle not to cry each time I read it as I remember bringing each of my babies home. I sound like an old granny, but my youngest is only 3! Eloise Wilkin is a favorite illustrator of my mother, myself, and my children.
Kirja kuvaa ihan mukavasti pienen lapsen näkökulmaa isosisarukseksi tulemiseen. Tosin hämmästyksen ja ilon lisäksi tässä ei muita tapahtumaan liittyviä tunteita käsitellä. Eloise Wilkin kuvitus on herkän kaunista kuten aina.
Kirjan kansikuva ja nimi saattavat myös hämätä. Kirjassa kerrotaan vauvan odottamisesta ja saapumisesta kotiin, ei elämästä hänen kanssaan.
I like how this book shows them getting ready for the new baby. The little boy Mike gets a new big bed. They get a new little buggy. He is so excited to meet his new sister. The art work is my favorite.
I came for the classic illustrations of cherubic faced children; I stayed for the iconic illustrations of wallpaper and clothing! Take me back to the 1960s!
Booooooring. I mean, little kids will probably like it. Stories don't even need to be exciting for kids to enjoy them. And I suppose this could help little ones prepare for a new brother or sister. But I dunno, it just bored me.
