The events that led to Giovanni Lombardi becoming the Mayor of New York were dark, deadly, and vicious. He was a man with a dream, and he made that dream a reality by destroying the lives of countless others. The men he had killed were often evil like him, and yet they did not stand a chance against a master manipulator like Giovanni. In the end, he was the people's chosen hero, but beneath the exterior was a man who controls the entire underworld of New York. I found this book compulsive reading, Giovanni was a psychopath who believed in his dream, destroying any who stood in his way. I was shocked at his level of evil, and yet I must admire the brilliance of his plan and the execution of the systematic eradication of his enemies.

Sins of the Daughter by Frank Lucianus is a decent read with well developed characters and a clearly plotted out story line. For those who are fans of mafia stories, I believe you will find this to be one to add to your reading list. Be warned, there are several grammatical errors and, towards the end, as the author rushes to a conclusion, several of the main characters lose their voice, losing their Italian speak for outright American patois. The story gets a bit frustratingly unrealistic in the way that Jacopo so easily knows and sees all and takes no losses. But overall a decent read.

Sins of the Daughter is the second book in this series which continues the story surrounding Jessica Lombardi, lawyer and daughter of a New York mob boss, who met Francesco Giuliani in the first book of the series. The novel is focused on the lives of the mafia family and is filled with twists which maintains your interest and attention.

I suggest reading book 1 first, not completely necessary but it’s a brilliant book so go ahead and read if before this one! This book continues on with the family and if you enjoy a great crime book then this is going to be perfect for you.

Audiobook: The male heads of the two dominant Mafia families are dead, the city is falling into chaos, it's time for change. From Italy comes a daughter who sees what is happening and grasps the nettle to gain control. A well written thriller with great narration.

The story line was great, the character work was fantastic, and the book had a fairly smooth flow to it. This was a great addition to the series. I was hooked from beginning to end. I can't wait to see what the author gives us next.

These books must be read in order. Sins of the Daughter takes over where Sins of the Son left off. The tragic ending of Sins of the Son brings rise to Jessica and her rule of the mafia. Jessica has different plans for both families and tries to hold them together before New York falls completely to the gangs. I liked seeing a girl as 5he head of the mafia. It was a great twist. Jessica has a will that could only come from. the head of the mafia's father. I enjoyed watching tough men follow her lead. Jessica stopped at nothing to uphold her father's wishes. Another Suspenseful story.

Manuela Farina had a wonderful Italian accent to continue that realism to the stories. Ms.Farina was not as heavy in her accent, so she was much easier to follow from the beginning. Ms. Farina narrated Jessica exactly as I think she was to be; strong, determined, yet in mourning.s. Farina brought Jessica to life.

I listened to this book and I liked it better than the book one for sure. The narrator narration was much smoother than the first.

Great story that was well written. I really enjoyed it.
