I've been a writer, one way or another, all my life. Before I could read, I made up poems and my mom wrote them down for me. In elementary school, my teachers almost always let me write poems or stories instead of requiring me to do art projects. Always, I dreamed of becoming a published writer...and that dream came true! I write novels about sexy, powerful men and independent-minded women, and what happens when they find each other and fall in love. My books are sexy and romantic, and they've very often full of romantic suspense. I write the kinds of books I love to read, and I hope that makes my readers happy.

This was a entertaining book. I loved the way story blossomed. In the first half heroine was very prickly in an unpleasant way but after that she was lovable. I liked the hero too. Both weren’t virgin and this is a safe read.
It was mentioned he had a new mistress waiting for him back in states and that’s it. No further drama- thank god!
Epilogue was good too.
Recommended.

The heroine was annoying and stupid. I didn’t find her at all sympathetic and quite frankly would not have blamed Khalil if he had left her to her own devices. He was actually quite a sweetie but she was just unpleasant, aggressive and unreasonably bad-mannered to him for most of the time. She wouldn’t listen and for someone who’d been rescued from. Forced marriage was remarkably ungrateful.

Title is misleading since the marriage took place in last couple of pages.

I could not buy into the love story and found the execution of this well used trope rather dull and boring. Not read this author before and probably won’t bother again.

Now that her mother has passed away, it’s become important to Layla Addison to get to know her father who resides in a desert kingdom and find out the truth as to why her mother left him and raised her alone. She is led to believe by her father that he would like to get to know her. However, in the end, he’s a brut and a horrible man and uses her to gain profit by selling her to a despicable man to become his wife.

Sheikh Kahlil al Hasim like all desert princes is proud, extremely handsome, arrogant and not too pleased that he has been summoned home to Al Ankhara to meet with his father and the council. He’s had to put a multi-millionaire business deal and a new mistress on hold to return to his father and the desert. Kahlil has always known he was a part of Al Ankhara and someday he will need to lead his people. He’s spent a good part of his life pretending he wasn’t part of it

On the night of his return he observes someone dressed in the native dress walking directly into the ocean. He investigates and learns that this person is non-other than the beautiful Layla. What he eventually learns is of her betrothal to the “pig” of a man and like all warriors Kahlil feels he must save her from her fate, so he comes up with a plan. Kahlil also realizes that he must keep his father from being a part of a disastrous plan that would bring grief to his country. Duty and honour are part of him but at times, he wishes things were different!

Layla is an extremely lovely woman with such a spirit and fire it will warm your heart and she’s has walked into a mess in more ways than one. How can she escape this marriage and now she is under the protection of this sexy sheikh, at times it is more than she can emotionally endure. Will Kahlil’s plan work or will it backfire? This spitfire is constantly challenging this desert prince and he resorts to always kissing her into silence or submission.

Like all East meets West love stories, there are misunderstandings, frustrations and a sexual tension that heats up the pages as only Sandra Marton can pen in the Sheikhs Wayward Wife. Their desire and passion are immediately felt by the reader and Kahlil’s confusion as to what he is feeling and experiencing were a joy to read, especially his strong feelings in wanting to protect Layla and the means with which he did protect her.
This second book in the Sheikh Tycoon’s series was a sincere pleasure to read. Its passion and fire were so evident and had me wanting more and more and not wanting their beautiful love story to end.

I'm usually leery of sheikh books (issues, I haz them!) but this was part of a bundle so I read it as I came across it. I quite liked it, and it definitely helped that a lot of the story was from the hero's POV, so I got to see that though he was somewhat(!) imperious, he meant well and just wasn't used to having to explain himself.

Major oops: Alcohol! I mean, I get that HPs are religion-free, and it doesn't bother me that the hero and his buddy drink socially in Europe, but back home his father the king offers the heroine alcohol? REEEEally? *headdesk* headdesk* *headdesk* (I know that not all Arab countries are Muslim, but what with some of the other plot points hinting that way (like the king not having a harem so those quarters were unused), it really bothers me that the king offers Layla the choice between wine or an aperitif.)(See earlier mention about having issues…)

Also, the back cover copy is incorrect and the title doesn't suit the story. (Picky much? *grin*)

…But I really did enjoy the story…

I seldom gave a low rating. If I don’t like the book, I usually gave it a 3. However, the heroine of this story annoyed the hell out of me. She was full of bullshit! I don’t understand her defiance against the hero for in fact the latter is her savior.

I was really surprised that I liked this one. I don't normally like books with sheikhs it's hard to understand the concept of women being second class and for the heroes to view them that way (the hero was not like that). This one was pretty good, I liked both the hero and heroine they fight a lot but it makes sense with the life and death situation they were in. Np.

What a horrible heroine. If that's what the author thinks independent American women are like, she's confusing independence with childish, combative, self-centred and spoilt. I couldn't get past the first third of the book.

I find this author, in terms of her characters, is either a hit or a miss.

Excellent writing, but an old and well used M & B formula. The H/h hate each other but keep lusting after each other, then deny their attraction. Some steamy scenes that were well written.

Normally I have very low expectation of any book named Sheikh.... however it was nicely done.... I wanted a quick read with not much drama and found one in this

~~~~~
a ver la verdad es que no me gusto tantas cosas, en parte me pareció repetitivo por ese tema del secuestro de la anterior historia, so ahi lo deje.
2.5/3.
I'm once again on the fence with the book. I just started the series and read book one which I thought was pretty great or at least shaped up to greatness but for some reason I didn't like this book at all. The hero had a serious god complex and while I applaud him for being a decent human being, I just couldn't get into the story. The heroine was an alright character but I don't believe she betrayed her emotions correctly. C'est la vie!
Good to see a bit more of a sheikh's vulnerability as they are normally portrayed as overly alpha-males - this is one of the better 'desert' ones.
