I received a complimentary ARC edition from Amanda Siegrist! This is my honest and voluntary review.
Mia has had a very difficult childhood, she hasn’t had any successful romantic relationships and she doesn’t expect that she ever will, until she meets and falls head over heels for Jaxson. Jaxson knows he has to go slow with Mia but he is determined to make him his forever. I absolutely adored this emotional, sexy, and at times, humorous look into Mia and Jaxson’s back and forth relationship. Highly recommend!
4.5 Stars for The Right Time ( Perfect for You #2) If you love friends to lovers stories look no further than this emotional, entertaining read. Mia Carter and Jaxson Brandt’s story captivated and drew me in from the first chapter to the last line, I fell hook, line and sinker for this couple and I really wanted more. I swooned over Jaxson and I was totally invested in Mia and the mess she finds herself in because she is consumed with her past, I loved how Jaxson was determined to prove he would support her through whatever live threw at her because he loved her with every piece of his heart. This story touched me on so many levels, a heroine struggling to get over her past and honestly my heart broke for her as I learned what she had gone through and I found myself cheering our hero on because it was pretty obvious this man loved unconditionally and he knew what he wanted and that was Mia. This book has the perfect mix of love, humour and angst and I’m sure like me you will be happy to join this emotional roller coaster of a journey. Emotional, entertaining read that I highly recommend to all romance lovers.

- Second chance - Friends to lovers - Fun sexy times - Angsty - Off – the- charts chemistry - Intense - Passionate - All consuming - Heartfelt / Emotional - Wonderful - Fun cast of supporting characters - A gorgeous but slightly sullen, grumpy, sinful hero with a heart of gold and a patience of the saint - A strong, vulnerable, takeout-loving, sassy, jaded heroine with a weight of a world on her shoulders
This was another sweet, charming and a swoon worthy story that just captures you from the beginning. I couldn’t get enough of this book and characters. I never wanted it to end because I fell in love with this crew and their dynamics. They are adorable and there are some laugh out loud funny moments mixed with friendship which added to the story and plot. It is very enjoyable, well written and developed. The characters are complex, the plot is strong and some of the storyline unpredictable.
The Right Time is the second book in Perfect For You series by Amanda Siegrist. It is a complete standalone but you will definitely enjoy more if you read the previous book in the series since that is where Jaxson and Mia are introduced with some glimpses at their friendship / relationship. Loved the flow of this book and how fast paced it was that I was hanging on to every word. It was an easy but emotional read with so much heart, humor and laughs and touching / tender moments.
Separately they are beautiful mess, together they are perfectly imperfect. Their love story is not perfect. It’s layered, fast paced, real, raw and emotional. They lit the pages with their chemistry. I love their moments, banter and dialogues which were the highlight of my reading. They changed each other by teaching how to love and trust again. I love that they didn’t give up on each other even though there were some obstacles and Mia’s past played significant role. I loved Jaxson and his unwavering love and devotion to Mia. He wanted to be her everything: the person she can rely on, her knight in shining armor, her protector and her friend. Jaxson was so patient with Mia, waiting for her to open her eyes and trust him that he would never hurt her. All he wants is to make her happy and show her she could be loved. My heart hurt for Mia, her past and trust issues. She wanted to take a chance on them but fear of being hurt and trusting the wrong person stopped her. Mia and Jayson are flawed and complex. Neither of them can deny the strong connection they feel, nor the fiery chemistry but they are reluctant to start a relationship not wanting to ruin their friendship. They would rather have a little piece of each other than not be in each other’s life at all. The epilogue was just beautiful, I wanted to last forever and to never let go of these amazing characters and world.
Yet, another fantastic book in an amazing series. It was fun, flirty and heartwarming and at times heartbreaking. I thoroughly enjoyed this amazing book. Highly recommend it.
This is book 2 in the series but easily stands alone. Its stars Mia and Jaxson. The first book THE WRONG BROTHER starred Gabby and Dane. Dane was Gabby's boss and she thought he was dating her best friend. Mia. Mia was her best friend who begged her to see if her boyfriend was a cheater. Gabby went under cover and pretended to be his assistant while trying to see if he would cheat. But Mia was not dating Dane but his cheating brother, Champ. And Gabby was not an assistant but a cop and her partner was Jaxson, who has crushed on Mia for years.
Now this is book 2 in the series and its where we get Mia's story and Jaxson gets his chance with Mia, after crushing on her for 9 years.
Mia had a pretty tragic childhood. Her mother died of Cancer and she had a terrible father who abused her in all kinds of ways. In the end, she ended up killing her father to save Gabby. Jaxson has ALWAYS wanted Mia and in this story he finally gets a chance when they each are tasked with hosting party for Dane and for Gabby. Meanwhile Jaxson knows that Mia is very wishy washy about getting together and so he has to try and convince her to stick around.
This book also introduces some new characters that hopefully we will get to see in future books.
I LOVED the first book but while I enjoyed watching Dane and Gabby ride off in happiness, I had a hard time loving Mia, as she was into Jaxson but also trying to be distant with him too. He was all in and she was really not sure she was ready for everything he wanted.
What I did learn from this book was how childhood trauma can really affect an adult in their twenties in all kinds of relationships. In relation to Mia, it affected her relationship not only with Gabby but at work as well, and in her romantic history as well.
I felt this book was interesting and I enjoyed meeting the characters but the plot was kinda vague. It was Jaxson trying to create a relationship with Mia and Mia trying to decide what she wanted to do, while they planned a party together and she hid so many things from Jaxson and Gabby. Jaxson also hid things from Gabby and from Mia.
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This story was sweet but so stressful due to the lack of commitment by the characters. For me, I found reading the story in the third person quite difficult, as it made me have to think too hard to really enjoy the story. However, once I got on a roll I started to get invested and needed to find out how everything worked out.
Mia is a mess. She is so consumed with her past that she struggles with most relationships. I found this so annoying at times, so much so that she got on my last nerves a lot of the time. Once she saw sense I warmed to her but that was mostly because it made Jaxson happy.
Jaxson is such a dreamboat, he is so besotted with Mia that he would do anything in the world to make her happy; she just needs to realise that he’s in it for life. I adored him and would be happy to have a Jaxson in my life.
On reflection, this was a good book with an even better ending but, in my opinion, there was potential for a lot more drama and intrigue.
4 star Review The Right Time (Perfect For You #2) by Amanda Siegrist
This is a friends to lovers story that was an entertaining, yet emotional read and ticked the boxes for me. From start to finish I was invested in the story that Amanda Siegrist wove about Mia Carter and Jaxson Brandt. This was at times an emotional roller coaster of a read, there was some angst as Mia struggled to overcome her past. There were times my heart almost broke for Mia and all she has endured. I adored Jaxson, he was so swoon worthy and I loved how much he wanted to show love and support to Mia. Mia has struggled with relationships and there were times I was frustrated with her, however once Jaxson got though to her, I found her easier to relate too. There were moments of humour as well as drama and angst as Mia struggles to organize a surprise birthday party for her work partner and deal with her relationship with Jaxson.
Mia is a total mess. Her character is very frustrating. I'm pretty sure most would want to shake her so badly. But for someone suffering Anxious-Avoidant Attachment especially the fearful avoidant attachment style, sadly her emotions are very relatable. No matter how your partner assures you, you'll always doubt the relationship and ends up hurting each other. Anyhow, Jaxson's character is everyone's book boyfriend material. He was very patient throughout the entirety of the story. Honestly most usually gives up because eventually they'll get tired reassuring their partners. I think this book would've been more frustrating if it's only Mia's POV and I think I would've like it more not knowing Jaxson's emotion. But it's totally my preference because that's how I keep invested with a story. Overall, I definitely enjoyed this one better than the first. Wish to read Jez and Brick's story soon.
I have to say top marks for Ms Siegrist for the pure entertainment value of this tale. It reminds me of an old style farce in some ways...almost caught out, but escaping JUST in the nick of time! When your work partner is your best friend and you're both police officers, there isn't much that escapes notice in the other's life. So trying to organise a surprise birthday party for her work partner turns into a bit of a complication...because here comes Jaxon, the man who has quietly stolen her heart, even though they can never be together...And Brick who just has to be part of it all... Now, I did laugh a few times but this really isn't a comedy per se. It does have humour, but it's just a really good read, and I for one, couldn't put it down and highly recommend it. Happy Reading!
Amanda Siegrist is able to combine sorrow and delight into happy ever after in a way that keeps me reading, growing to love the characters she creates, and leaving me wanting more.
Amanda Siegrist takes an insecure woman, Mia Carter, and creates a realistic character who finds her place in life, and someone to share it with. Isn’t that what we all want?
Jaxon is a police detective who works with Mia’s best friend, Gabby. After a robbery, he comes knocking on her door. Her knight in shining armor has arrived…again.
Jaxson Brandt had made his feelings clear to Mia…at The Wrong Time. After he declared his feelings for her, it put a distance between them. She denied her feelings, a least to everyone but herself. Doubt and fear held her back. Coud she take that leap of faith that love demanded?
Would there ever be The Right Time?
Amanda Siegrist makes me a sucker for her sweet romances. There is no intense danger, most of the time, just two people working through their issues to find themselves and each other. They could be your friends, your sister, your brother..
The Wrong Time by Amanda Siegrist has all you could want in a sweet romance: angst, the push/pull of romance, sorrow. tears, humor, joy and a happy ever after.
I voluntarily reviewed and ARC of The Right Time by Amanda Siegrist.
When is the right time to do anything? Like fall in love, start a new job or get married?
In Amanda Siegrist’s new book “The Right Time,” Jaxson promises to always be there for Mia in hopes that someday she would love him as he loves her. I applaud him for telling her that he was crazy about her even though he wasn’t sure how she would react. He felt relieved when he poured his heart out to her and I admire his honesty, perseverance, and his devotion to Mia. He wanted to be her hero, her protector, her friend and her partner. He never pushed or forced her to open up about her past if it was too painful for her. His marriage proposal came from his heart and he was surprised when she said yes!! Jaxson knew that at any minute Mia could change her answer and retreat back into her mind, where the past had taken up residence.
Mia does want to take a chance with Jaxson because he is her soulmate and the man she had always been waiting for. When she accepted his proposal, she felt free for the first time in her life and she could see her dreams becoming a reality. Jaxson makes her feel cherished and loved, like a princess in a fairytale, but she worries that they are moving too fast and not being rational about such a big decision. Will Mia allow the demons of her past to ruin her happiness or is this finally the right time to take a chance on love?
This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and is Jaxson and Mia’s story. These two are best friends, police officers, and partners, and when Mia is trying to organise a surprise birthday party it is a challenge to do while trying not to let Jaxson know. Mia struggles to overcome her past, while Jaxson supports her, and he would do anything for her. This is a beautifully written emotional roller coaster, friends / lovers romance, with a tad angst, drama, and love, which leads to an entertaining and humorous storyline. I was totally enthralled throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Mia's life is a mess and it's all due to being in love with Jaxson. Because of the terrors she endured in her past, she protects him by keeping him at arms length. She believes that he deserves better, but Jaxson doesn't seem to get that memo because he has no problem pursuing her until she relents. He's been in love with Mia for so long and in a way feels relieved that she finally knows. But Mia keeps her true feelings bottled up and has to keep up the pretense that she doesn't have feelings for him. I love Jaxson's patience, honesty, and determination to show her she deserves to be loved. A great addition to this series! Looking forward to the next book!
I am loving hard on the Perfect for You series. I can't stop the swooning I am doing over Jaxson. He was determined and adorable. I am so glad he was a strong hero that never gave up on fate. Yes I am talking about Mia. She has been through so much my heart broke for her. I totally get it. She feels that she has to keep her guard up. But this story helps two characters find their way through love even if both are a little bit damaged. The Right Time is a "feels like coming home" kind of story and I loved every single page!
I enjoyed the first book so I knew I needed to read this one. We got to know Mia and Jaxon in the first book. Jaxson is going to make you swoon. I'd like to find myself a Jaxson. There are plenty of times when he could have moved on, but what makes him awesome is he fights for Mia. Mia could use that in her life. Her past still weighs on her and thinks she doesn't deserve the happiness that Jaxson has to offer. This is a heartfelt story that will make your heart happy sigh. The party Mia and Jaxson plan I would so love that party. I'm a huge fan myself so I would be giddy with what they planned.
It took me awhile for me actually finish this book. I mean literally I been so busy and distracted.
But all in all I thought the book was interesting enough. Not better than Dane and Gabby book I will say that. This book was different.
One thing I will say I didn’t like was Mia and her running away from things. I was glad when she got helped with the issues she was dealing with. I just wish she did that when she was younger she wouldn’t push people away.
This was a great addition to the Perfect for You series. I loved Jaxson's love for Mia. She had her inner conflicts that kept pushing him away but he didn't let that deter him. So sexy, compassionate, and determined. I loved both books in this series for different reasons. I recommend this book if you want that warm and fuzzy feeling after you finish a book. I can't wait for the next book!
I loved Jaxson and Mia! They seemed to be perfect for each other, but Mia has a lot of trust issues because she has been hurt so many times, by family and cheating boyfriends. Mia does care for Jaxson but is afraid she will lose him, so she keeps him in the friend zone. While planning a birthday party together they are forced to acknowledge their feelings. Can they make it work? Will Mia be able to keep it from her best friend, Gabby until she is sure of the relationship? When is the right time to tell Jaxson how she feels, and to tell Gabby the truth?
This is Mia and Jaxson’s story. Mia is a bit of a mess. She hasn’t dealt with her horrible childhood and this has caused her a lot of turmoil as an adult. Jaxson is the sweetest. There is a lot of angst in this book. There’s quite a bit of humor too. I did laugh a lot although it is not in any way a rom com. I really enjoyed the dialogue between the characters.
After the explosion of Mia finding out how Jaxson felt about her, I was anxious to see how the lovely Amanda Siegrist would tell her story. Yet after giving this a read for myself I’ve got mixed feelings about it. Don’t get me wrong, I love that you get to explore both sides to Mia and Jaxson, but at the same time I just found there to be little diddly bits of information to just not flow right or even the scenarios… however that isn’t to say that their story isn’t told good, it just means that there’s just a small few details here and there if they’d been looked into a little more that this would have been a perfect read. I did fall in love with Mia back in the first book, but still this time round it was hard to get a good feeling when it came to her. I can understand her reservations and to not wanting to let anyone know how she was truly feeling, but still at times I just felt like she was repeating herself over and over at times. I get she was withdrawn, but still there’s only so many times that you can get to know all the ins and outs of why someone is the way she is and to me I felt that Mia at times was overdoing it. I thought that whilst Jaxson was perfect for her in every way I did feel that if he pushed just that little bit more to get the reaction or for her to show how she’s feeling, it may have worked in his favour just that little more than he actually saw. When he pushed at her for how she felt about him, I loved the reaction he got from her, it showed me that deep down she wasn’t afraid to go after what she wanted, it was just either the fear or needing the right push to go ahead and prove that. Out of the two characters, I thought that Jaxson stood out to me more and I found him to be more real than Mia, whereas in the first book she did seem like a different person to the one you see in this book. That’s not to say that she’s a bad person, but maybe it’s just her insecurities… who knows. Overall, I do think that Amanda did great with the story, but I felt that it was a little rushed, I wanted more than the two weeks that they were working with. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I wanted more from the two, I wanted to see how things progressed when it was clear that Jaxson wasn’t going to give up on Mia. Whilst I loved the prospect of this story, the one thing that really didn’t work for me was that after the ordeal that Mia goes through on her way back home one evening which then leads to the events of Jaxson turning up on her door, I didn’t like the fact that we didn’t exactly come back to where we left off when it was Mia’s turn. I get wanting to block out things, but surely it would make more sense picking back up where her chapter ended off when we went back to her?? But that wasn’t the case and to me I felt like that was a key point to the story as in a way everything was centered around the whole ordeal. Other than that one main point niggling at me, I have to say I’m impressed with Amada’s work and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the next book.
Jaxson has loved Mia for the last 9 years, and everything was working out fine… mainly because Mia didn’t know. However, after a slip up a couple of months ago when he revealed to Dane that he liked Mia and her overhearing, everything is far from normal. With Mia doing everything she can to avoid him, because in her eyes she doesn’t deserve to be happy (all thanks to her dad’s words of wisdom when she was younger) so now she’s afraid of finding the right person for her… it doesn’t last long because Jaxson gets enlisted to help throw a surprise party for Gabby, whilst Mia has to throw Dane one. With neither of the two wanting the spotlight on them, Jaxson comes up with a way to help both of them come up with a creative way for both Dane and Gabby to celebrate their days. With the excuse of needing to help plan the parties, Jaxson uses this as a way to get closer to Mia and prove to her that she deserves the world, the right guy looking after her and most of all that it’s okay to be loved. Will Mia finally find the courage to let him in or will she be so consumed by all of her thoughts, her past and overthinking that she won’t let him in and will do everything in her power to avoid him???
The Right Time (Perfect for You #2) Written by: Amanda Siegrist
The Right Time is book two in Author Amanda Siegrist’s Perfect for You.
We met Mia and Jaxson in book one and now readers get to spend some time with this couple.
Mia has been best friends with Gabby since childhood. To say Mia had a good childhood would be more than misleading. She lost her mother to cancer and than lived with an abusive father. Her background with him has very much controlled her emotions and thought process. She often finds herself going back to those memories and it controls how she handles incidents and people in her life now.
Jaxson and Mia’s friend Gabby are partners; they are police detectives and are best friends at work as well as outside of work. Jaxson has wanted to ask Mia out for years. He’s not a shy man but he does know his background and he was waiting for what he hoped would be “The Right Time” to ask her on a date. Mia, however had overheard a confession he made to Gabby and ran. Maybe it wasn’t really her Right Time.
In this book Amanda Siegrist gives readers an opportunity to see the emotional damage that was left behind from her father. She is full of self-doubt and her biggest fear is being left behind, alone and hurt. So rather than allow that to happen she is usually the one to end a relationship.
When an incident occurs and Jaxson shows up at her door a moment in time is presented and a question is asked, but will the answer ever occur?
It’s wonderful to see a man with so much conviction about how he feels about his woman that he is willing to step out of his comfort zone and is willing to go to the wall for her. He even tells her his secret, hoping to show her she can trust in him. There is a lot of angst that put Mia and Jaxson through some very bad days. In the end a black belt and some red lipstick might just be what’s needed to know that this is The Right Time for them.
Following on from book1, this is Jaxson and Mia's story He has been in love with her for years but she has kept him firmly in the friends zone. Overhearing him say he liked her caused her to become cooler towards him. A shooting incident, fortunately with no one getting hurt, brings Jaxson to her door. She finally admits her love for him and they become engaged after he impulsively asked her to marry him. Not without problems on both sides. Jaxson is perfect, loving, caring and kind. He works hard to show her how much so, either happiness his priority. The frustrating part in this story and their relationship is Mia's constant whining and self pity about how she doesn't deserve to be happy and loved. Her childhood and father is the root of her behaviour. Though understandable, it is repetitive whenever she has doubts or conflict of any kind, which causes her to be unkind in her deeds. She is a bit 'Jekyll and Hyde' in character and whilst there is sympathy given, I did not like her at times; but this is part of the storyline Love this author, this series so far and look forward to book 3.

This is book two in The Perfect For You Series and it is Mia and Jaxson’s story. Mia hasn’t had a easy childhood or life and a relationship seems to be out of the question but then she meets Jaxson and everything that she thought that she didn’t want is right in front of her but will she be able to make herself vulnerable and trust that she is doing the right thing and not making a big mistake or will she walk away and miss out on something special. Jaxson has been in love with Mia for quite a while but he doesn’t know if she is ready for him to tell her how he feels without making her run so he will just have to be very patient and show her that she does deserve love and he is here for her and to show her that he is the only man for her but will he win Mia’s heart. I absolutely loved this book and even with all the ups and downs and also some funny moments it is a beautiful and emotional story that will have you turning the pages to see what the outcome will be for them and if they get the happy ending that they both deserve. I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed and I can’t wait to read more books from this series in the future.
So normally I like this author's books but this one just bored me.. I was hoping it would get better but it really didn't. I thought maybe I might have needed to read book 1 before this but I didn't know if it would make it any better... My biggest issue was most definitely Mia. I get she has some demons and has to come to term with all that but why tell Jaxson yes when you weren't sure. She put this poor man thru the ringer.. I absolutely loved Jaxson! He was the reason I kept reading and hoping that Mia would finally battle thru her issues and be with him. He emptied his heart out to her and she couldnt' do the same for him.. It was heartbreaking. The ending was sweet and I loved their idea for the party!

Friends to lovers - always my favorite trope. This book is in the Perfect For You series. Although it can be read as a standalone, I do recommend reading The Wrong Brother - it is wonderful!
Jaxson is such a perfect book boyfriend! He is sweet and caring and attentive...total swoon worthy!! He has been in love with Mia for years, but was content being only friends. And then he messed everyting up by letting Mia know his feelings.
Mia keeps romantic relationships light, fun and short lived. Although she is madly in love with Jaxson, she is afraid to take a chance on love, which is why she is so surprised she agreed to marry him. Now all Jaxson has to do is keep convincing her to stay together.
