Born in Yorkshire I now live in Cardiff Bay and have been writing for over thirty years. I have published an award winning historical novel, a series of 18 Children's Picture Story Books as well as other assorted genres. I also write non-fiction.

Over the last few years I have developed my mentoring skills and now mentor new and developing writers of all ages worldwide, leading them through their writing journey to the point of publication. I also offer a variety of professional services covering workshops, reviewing and editing and have created a series of podcasts all aimed at benefiting writers at all levels. Details of the services I offer can be found on my authors website www.ann-brady.co.uk or my mentoring websites - www.mentoringwriters.co.uk (over 18's) and www.Kids4Kids.org.uk for the younger writers. Through these I work alongside other authors, illustrators, editors etc where we endeavour to make every effort to help writers achieve success in their writing journey.

Due to my reviewing and editing of manuscripts my reading tastes extend across a variety of subjects and genres. However, having a strong love of history, the late Dorothy Dunnett was one of my favourite writers. Her ability to ‘marry’ fact and fiction in her writing was always extremely well done, leaving the reader with a belief that both the fictional characters and events she wrote about really did exist in history, even if they didn’t. Because of this I find I can encourage writers better in their search for their characters and scenes thus helping them create better stories for their readers.
