i appreciated the rigor of criminal law as presented in this text. it works over ancient common law ideas but also presents parts of the model penal code for comparison. of course the actual practice of criminal law is not nearly so rigorous as this text presents it--what seems to be an intellectual schematic, not lacking in its sublimities, comes down to earth as the mere self-interested exercise of power, trashy and glib--none of that is evident here.

A decent and well written case law book to help the reader understand the ins and outs of criminal laws and procedures.
