Super simple board book. The story is nothing new, but in this book, it is all about the illustrations. At first it make me think of Lois Ehlert for just the brightness of the illustrations. But they are their own, they are unique, and they are truly works of art.

A board book that demands baby gets to grips with having a book in their hand, and exploring all it can offer – even if that is just having a doodad one can move across or around the design. That said, it isn't as good as the one I saw last week concerning animal habitats ("5 Wild Homes" – https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...). Like that, this has a simple rhyme, wonderful colours and a vivid aesthetic for every verso page, and also a nubbin set into the thick card recto to be moved about, but here there's less reason to do the moving, as it just fills a hole in the critters' face, and doesn't have a specific motion across the landscape. And the bonus features previously evident, of exploring the whole world of each image, are lost when these are just portraits of the beasties and nothing else.

This is a short board book for very young children, which shows 5 wild animals, such as bird, snake and crocodile. The illustrations are very bright and colourful and the writing is told in a rhyming format, which is really nice. My daughter loved the book as she loves animals, although she was a bit scared of the crocodile's sharp teeth.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love the bold illustrations, rhyming text, and engaging interactive element in this board book! Read about a snake, lion, turtle, crocodile, and bird as the child can move little pieces on a cutout path. The content is fun and engaging despite only being 5 pages. It's a fun book the littlest children will enjoy interacting with.

***Note: I was given a review copy of this book by Quarto Kids. Opinions are my own.

I like that the interactive track for each animal is a different shape, which will allow small children the opportunity to explore the feeling of different shapes when they are tracing the track. The colours and illustrations were so vibrant and eye catching. I think kids will have fun learning about these five animals in this interactive, rhyming book.
