It’s a bit dated having been published in the mid 80’s, but it was extremely informative and while some of the recipes are fairly well known today (banana pancakes) some are still pretty unique and exciting. I can’t wait to try them.

From the moment I spotted this book, I knew I had to have it! Large, glossy, colorful and just as it says, complete! The photos are large and descriptions are very detailed. It's an excellent reference for expanding your palate in a healthy direction. I'm trying to incorporate more raw food recipes or just plant-based dishes and find this book an invaluable source for local and ethnic dishes alike. It also does a great job of providing a cross section of certain fruits that provides greater confidence when shopping at farmer's markets for new things to try.

There's even a section in the back of the book for recipes using the fruits. I haven't tried any of the recipes, but the book itself is a true treasure. Kids will LOVE it and it could even be helpful in practicing food vocabulary in another language.

It gets even better, there's a compliment to this book called, The Complete Book of Vegetables that I found at the same time! Just as interesting, just as useful. Very satisfied with the purchase of both the fruit and veggie books. If this is a complete series, you do well to collect the entire lot!
