Rogues to Riches
This is the fourth book in the Rutledge Historical Society Cozy Mystery series. A large group of people enters the Rutledge Historical Society to see the new and much anticipated 1950s murder exhibit. After viewing the display, the group exits the building leaving two people behind. A few minutes later, one of the two is shot dead in front of the exhibit and the other one rushes out the back door and escapes. Was the perpetrator one of the group or was it the old woman’s daughter who has only a very weak (and stinky) alibi? Or could it have been someone else? Lorry, convinced the new murder is connected to the old one, decides to look into the past to find the culprit. But with a wedding to plan, who has time to find a murderer? Sassy, irreverent Lorry Lockharte, that’s who.

Not as good as the previous books
A good read. Which should have felt right but it felt off. The plot was well thought out and executed but the characters just felt off centre and a bit plastic. Can't put my finger on why but I really didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the earlier books.
She still hasn't made plans for the wedding. But all that is thrown into turmoil when the elderly woman comes back and says that two suspects are still missing off their exhibit and that there is a problem with the murder weapon. She doesn't take much notice until during another visit the woman is shot dead. Exactly like the original victim. Now her mind can't stop going over the events and she really finds it hard to agree on a wedding venue. Throw in an ex-wife, a visit to a nursing home, several attempted break-ins, and attempted murder for a good read but not the best as I had guessed the killer early on. Plus the dialogue was just too false and plastic. Shame.

Murder at the Historical Society. Again.
An exhibit about a decades-old murder stirs up old issues. A woman who seems to know a lot about it is murdered at the exhibit.
