The poems by Helen Steiner Rice touch and calm the hurting heart. It was interesting to read life stories of some who were thus affected by her writing. I was encouraged that Helen Steiner Rice, who suffered a great deal throughout her life, clung to her belief in God and shared her outlook on life through her God-given gift of poetry. However, I thought the authors (Pollitt and Wiltse) were somewhat stiff in their presentation.
