This book is amazing. I love Joyce Rupp. Reading her take on the life of Christ from The Blessed Mother’s point of view was well done. If you are struggling or trying to help a loved one struggling this book is for you

Sorrow is universal

This is a beautiful book about the reality of sorrow within Mary's life but also in the life of each person. Joyce Rupp's analysis and the connections she makes shows how transformative suffering is if we acknowledge it, allow ourselves to be vulnerable and are willing to walk with others and allow them to walk with us in sorrow.

A beautiful book that relates our challenges with Mary. I found it very comforting. I particularly liked the dialogue to self. Joyce Rupp has a language that can touch the soul.

The meditations were pretty good, but the writer is a nun who doesn't wear a habit... seems sus... among other things in this book...

This book helped me to experience intense healing regarding numerous life situations. It is very special to me because it was gifted to me at the end of my 30 day silent retreat because my spiritual director had given me the chapter on the sorrow of Mary surrounding laying Jesus in the tomb to pray with during my retreat and it was very fruitful.
