I've never been so excited to eat spinach; or at least not since I read his first book in 2004. This was somewhat of a rehashing of his original Superfoods Rx, but with more added content. But don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I find nutrition to be a very interesting topic and this one was just more chock-full of studies on ways nutrients found in food can improve your health.
Of course, I take all this information with a grain of salt (but not literally, since we're supposed to decrease our sodium), because our bodies are so much more complex than just the vitamins, minerals and amino acids we've identified and studied. My mantra is still "everything in moderation".
One thing that irked me is that he gives a 6-week program for incorporating the superfoods into your diet, but the weekly planners are not cumulative. There are six individual weekly planners for the six different weeks, but there is not a "sum" of all six weeks anywhere.

I did not get to read all of this book because I had to return it to the library. With that disclosure, I still prefer the original Pratt book (2004) on the 14 SuperFoods. This book focuses more on total health, and has almost too much detail- complicated exercise charts, complicated diets- including what is now 25 SuperFoods. I found it a bit confusing and you couldn't just pick a topic, the chapters seem to build on each other. If I found this at a book sale or garage sale, I would still pick it up as a reference, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan to focus exclusively on diet and exercise full time for six weeks (the recommended program length of the book).

I just love this Superfoods guy. He makes eating more healthfully not only 10 shades of noble, he makes it sound easy and creative too.

Really learned a lot about good nutrition. Especially like his list of 25 superfoods.

loved the simplicity of what to eat and that even if you did not have all the superfoods you can use "sidekicks" that do the same for your body.

An excellent book on nutrition with seasonal suggestions for healthy eating and recipes included.
