Pred precitanim tejto knihy bola moja predstava o bondage velmi naivna, musim sa priznat. Myslel som si, ze ved to sa len omota lano, uviaze uzol a vybavena vec. Takuto predstavu o bondage som si zrejme spravil na zaklade vyobrazenia tejto temy v popkulture. Rovnako asi ako skoro vsetko v popkulture, ani toto nezodpovedalo realite.

V realite je bondage ovela rozsiahlejsia a sofistikovaniejsia tema. Napriklad ohladom safety je vela faktorov, ktore treba vzdy brat do uvahy, aby nikto neprisiel k urazu. Existuje mnoho roznych uzlov, mnoho sposobov ako a kade omotat lano, ako imobilizovat ktore casti tela, a podobne. Najviac ma zaujala japonska vetva erotic bondage nazyvana Shibari, ktora siaha tradiciou daleko do minulosti, kedy sa zvazovanie lanom vyuzivalo hlavne na imobilizaciu alebo mucenie vaznov. Yeah, I snarfed this one.

Marked down slightly because the safety information was a bit tedious, since I'd read similar information in his book SM101. On the other hand, some passages were really very funny. For example: "Once you have applied any of the single-limb cuffs listed in the previous chapter, with the exception of the Pre-fab Lark's Head, you will have two tails coming off the cuff which should probably be secured somewhere - unless the sight of the bottom doing jumping jacks after you have tied cuffs to their wrists and ankles turns you on. (What are you, some kind of pervert?)"

Seems like a good resource. Interesting read even as a single/non-practicing bottom, lol. Includes a lot of practical information beyond simple "Stay safe and have fun" that resources online etc sometimes boil down to: types of rope and where to buy them, types of knots, how to tie what part of the body for different restraint levels, and so on. The author consulted a range of disciplines with relevant knowledge, from military restraint techniques to camping or boating knots to medical papers, and brought them all together here.

Un gran bel libro per chi vuole avvicinarsi al bondage. Parte dalle basi sulla sicurezza per passare alla gestione delle corde e quindi ai tipi principali di bondage.
Si concentra sul bondage occidentale (quindi non parla di shibari) ma trasmette nozioni utilissime per tutti gli appassionati di corde.

In case you are into bdsm and also want to do this in an informed way, you might already have read one of Wiseman's titles. Even though a bit dated, this handbook is still extremely useful, not only concerning some techniques but also background, materials, and lots of safety advice. I only subtract half a star for the lack of useful pictures (there are only a handful of drawings). 4.5 stars
