Excellent book! If you are going to Charleston SC, make a reservation to take Mr. Brown's tour. Reading thee book will give you even more insight into the history of the Gullah people.

At times the writing leaves something to be desired (it can be a bit flat), but I really enjoyed all the tid bits of history and culture here.
