Okay , it was an illustrated account of the original directed at mid to late teens . I just couldn't find a copy of the original through the PA library system . No surprise , it was written in the 1820s . Kind of an elementary story , but enjoyed it none the less .

I recall reading this up at grandmother's cottage in Michigan. I had already seen the 1965 film version of She starring Ursula Andress and was quite excited to find the original book. King Solomon's Mines, however, I had only heard of, never having seen a filmed version of it. Both books were somewhat disappointing.
